I could never understand what the love fest was really all about, but now State Department reveals Hillary Clinton received $500K worth of jewelry from Saudi king, seems like oven kissing pays off even if it's not on front page of the News (got the link from a friend on facebook, missed it on CNN which is set as my home page, although I'm sure they have it hidden somewhere - they have to for relevancy)

I, in contrast got my two dogs shot for Christmas this year (December 4th) for making videos about international bankers - AND the police will not release the name of the shooter, they claim the case has been closed.

Surely someone who would unconstitutionally accept a gift from a foreign nation has no business being president.

    Article I, Section 9, Clause 8:

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.

Even if she gave it back later, she already committed the crime.

No. All I know about Clinton in Kosovo is that she is a brave fighter, a brave woman who dodged bullets to bring peace.

I believe it's against the law in the U.S. for someone to keep gifts given to them because of their official position.

Do you know that Bill Clinton is proud of his war towards Serbia? He broke international law and entered an internal civil war, which not only put an Islamic terrorist and drug producing nation in the middle of Europe, but had world consequences in that it showed us as being willing to destroy any nation aligned with Russia. The Clintons are idiots, and the proof is the arms build up of Russia because of Kosovo.

By all means, explain how this doesn't apply to foreign businesses that lobby GOP legislators...

Why should I do that? I made no such claim, and it would be off topic in this thread.

So, you don't deny that GOP legislators have violated the law you cited (Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 ) - and not returned the "gift" - but it's "off topic" unless it pertains to Clinton?

I didn't realize the entire purpose of the thread was to demonstrate hypocrisy by slinging mud solely in one direction.

No, I don't deny that. But this thread is about the incident with Clinton, so yes, that would be off topic. Go ahead and post about that if you want, but there's no reason that I should, as I am not the one trying to justify one crime by citing another. Partisans on both sides like to do that "but, but, Jimmy did it" number, and what we get is corruption on both sides, excused by distracting from every incident by bringing up other incidents instead of condemning the one at hand.

Just so I've got this clear:
Clinton being presented gifts which are then returned = crime that we should all post about.
US legislators being presented gifts that they keep = crime that we should all ignore (and try to keep others from mentioning)

Sounds like typical conservative hypocrisy to me...

Since you obviously don't have it clear:

Clinton being presented gifts which are then returned = crime that we should all post about IN THIS THREAD.

US legislators (of BOTH parties) being presented gifts that they keep = good topic for another thread (why don't you go make one). OR you can keep posting off topic stuff in this thread. I don't care if you do, but I don't care to participate in that, either.

Are you suggesting the topics are totally unrelated? If not, then I am on topic.
