Marco Rubio is living above his means.

Sounds like a perfect fit to lead a country who espouses such a concept ($20 Tril).

The only thing that baffles me is that people think this is actually news.

It wouldn't be news if you or I did it. It's news because the dude doesn't have $1,500 in his checking account (on a $250K salary) but he wants to make a $2.2 trillion dollar budget to give to Congress every year while acting as POTUS. I don't think someone that fiscally irresponsible should be allowed to handle bus fare to a baseball game; let alone the budget of a country that protects the lives of 325,000,000 people.

He could have said, "I feel your pain."

Apparently all the millionaires in congress can't balance a thing either or we wouldn't have 18 trillion dollar debt and counting upwards. Perhaps it is time to try someone who is having problems balancing their own budget.

Besides, has anyone else noticed this agent_286 starts a thread and then leaves without replying to anyone or is it just me?

Thats the point Mcfly, its not a normal fridge, its a high end expensive one. You are trying to compare your inexpensive cheapo fridge to a high end fridge. Since you refuse to tell us which model you bought, it appears you lied about it. Gee first you knew everything about refrigerators, you looked up the reviews, you even knew which one I had without asking....you knew everything except the model number of the one you bought.
    Hilarious post fail. Thanks

I suppose if the author had every congress person's personal financial information as a comparison, both dems and repubs.... this thread might have a leg to stand on.... but it seems it does not.

Just check out Best Buy's web site for instance. There are fridges from $1200(on sale) all the way to $5000+ . Like anything else it depends on what you need as far as what type of space and how much space.

It is common to spend $2000-$3000 on these appliances unless you want to buy used. In which case I wouldn't want to buy a used fridge from someone anyways.

I would also guess that The Rubio's would be doing a lot of entertaining.....he is running for President after all. That is what ALL politicians do. Today, campaigning is more their occupation than running the country is considered to be.

A person doing heavy entertaining would want a big refrigerator. One with different temp control in different compartments. And would hold an accurate and consistent temperature. I'm surprised it was only $3k.

Yeah that too. As if all politicians are not living beyond their means, the only difference is Rubio is paying for all of his crap out of pocket while most all other politicians either get free be's or use tax dollars to fund their expenses and lavish living.

But still yes they are politicians, and for them to have anything less than the best is not at all an option.

Neither have many democrats. That's why they need our money to survive. We have to balance our budgets while paying for theirs at the same time.

I thought that was something the Liberals would admire about Rubio.

He'd probably have a walk-in or a pair of Sub Zeros. But not if he has a net worth of negative $1.1 million. That's just idiotic.

Not actually. A lot of high profile politicians are mega-millionaires. They probably have zero debt. Wasn't almost every POTUS a multimillionaire? Even Washington was worth a half billion. But for a normal person, having only $50K in savings but having $1.1M in debt really is not fiscally responsible. At least among my peers (software consulting); I don't think many of us have revolving debt or real estate debt. And this guy is making a quarter mil a year - why is he so strapped for cash? I dunno - the whole thing seems weird to me.

Link for what, you don't know about her cattle futures trading? Give your brief synopsis of what that was all about?

So I guess you were all over Alcee Hastings last week when he was appealing for a Congressional raise because those in congress had such high living expenses?

I'd kind of want someone who new how to run something really large (like perhaps a Fortune 100), had a lot of relationships inside DC so he could get stuff done, was known for having high integrity, maybe had a law degree since so much of the job is about directives, signing stuff into law, etc., and maybe someone who earned a bunch but never had to do bankruptcies (I say that thinking of The Donald and his 4 bankruptcies). Worst POTUS we ever had was Nobama, followed closely by Carter. We want whatever the opposite of those clowns are. Remember the LP candidate from 2012; Gary Johnson? I think he is going to run again in 2016. He seemed a billion times better than Nobama or Romney; and he would definitely be better than Hitlery or Jeb.

If you are a Senator, the State doesn't give you a daily per-diem for when you are in Washington? Every government project I was on always paid great per-diems.

I voted for Johnson in 2012. The way I explained that vote was I had lost faith in one candidate and didn't trust the other. I wasn't going to vote for the least worst candidate or the lesser of two evils only because they happen to be a Republican or Democrat. Voting for the lesser of two evils is exactly why Obama is president today.
