ooo this actually fascinates me...

it is interesting how people are more outraged when an animal is abused or killed, than when humans are abused or killed...

I mean any given day in america dozens of people are murdered, and we don't seem to care as much as a story about an animal that will go national, but almost none of the murders will go national... same thing with abuse, I mean we don't need to go any further than the local nursing homes in just about every city to find abuse, yet people are more worried nationally about how animals are treated before we kill them to eat...

people are just amazing sometimes... the psychology behind this is lovely...

we're so in tune to those little puppy dog eyes in those sad puppy commercials, than those of the elderly person being abused or murdered...

america, what a place! lol

I would like to see the difference in reactions... if we were to substitute the above pictures, with lets say the autopsy photo of the woman and the leftover carcass of the lion... show both split open and gutted like crazy... and tell me which people more sorry for... versus a smiling woman we see daily, and a lion we only see on special times... is it a matter of perspective for being able to view each as dead, or just being desensitized from seeing women daily so its not big deal, but we rarely see lions in the news or in person at the zoo where we hold them as majestic, while women are just common replaceable things...

are womens rights groups now outraged at this comparison between a woman and a lion? I would love to jump in on that bandwagon of rage!

What is it with this notion that people can only care about one thing at a time? Perhaps there are others out there who, like me, are upset by the loss of both of these lives so senselessly.

   If you are against Planned Parenthood selling baby parts, you are anti-woman.

   If republicans attempt to defund the sale of baby parts by Planned Parenthood, shut down the government and blame it on republicans for not being responsible with government.
   If a white cop kills a black suspect, it's national news.
   If a black suspect kills a black victim, nobody in the democrat party or the media cares, and nobody ever hears about it.
   If a child works hard in school and has an ambition to go to college and is white, he is guilty of white privilege.
   If a child works hard in school and has an ambition to go to college but is an illegal alien, he's a dreamer.
   If a man kills a lion the country is outraged.
   If an illegal kills a woman, anyone who complains about sanctuary city policies is a racist.

I remember seeing on the news protesters who had something along those lines... haha there it is I found it... catlivesmatter...



I also saw other thing like "I am cecil" kinda stealing thunder from the charlie thing...

I also remember reading a while back how the "all lives matter" and "blue lives matter" people were being lambasted because they were using their white privilege to steal a phrase meant for black people, so I can only imagine more of that will surface now that someone is stealing it for a "cat"...

The outrage over Cecil the lion is manufactured by the media that hates guns and hunters. The apathy over Kate is manufactured by the media that loves illegals and sanctuary cities. It's just that simple. Propaganda still works in this day and age.

 

With the Obama administration, who is to say that's true? Obama could commute whatever sentence he gets. In the real world, you would say, that is crazy talk, but in Bizarro world where we find ourselves, who can say?

 

But we don't get that from Liberals. They care more about an ANIMAL, than they do about a human, UNLESS it's a Black killed by a white. A psychiatrist would have a field day with that one.

 

I disagree. I've not talked to anyone who cares more about Lions than people. If you're wondering why they are talking so much about the lion, it's likely because unlike the shooter of that poor lady, the shooter of the lion is free. You see, once a murderer has been arrested and confessed, The story will start to fade. It's completely normal and has nothing to do with politics.

I didn't say women are replaceable... I put forth a question about why are people less outraged at a woman being killed over an animal, is it because we're so desensitized to violence against women compared to violence against animals which we don't see in our communities or on the news nightly...

I did however mock womens rights groups being outraged at comparisons to them... so you can be angry with that statement, nothing to do with disliking women, just groups that rage anytime someone steals their thunder in a comparison... that covers so many things other than just women...

P.S. I see the commercial below, almost every single week, I can't think of the last time there was a commercial about women being abused on tv... I just wonder why... I mean the statistics would surely prove more women are abused on a daily basis than animals... yet society, including women, seem more outraged about the animals... I don't get it...

I'm not going to say what you describe isn't out there, but I'm not sure if that explains this situation. One of the functions of criminal justice is catharsis, which means cleansing, i.e. one of the secondary reasons we lock people up for murder is that, if we didn't, people would take justice into their own hands and we could get a feud with killing after killing. When people feel like a grave crime will go unpunished, they want to take justice into their own hands. I'd imagine the person who killed Kate, if known, is being prosecuted and will likely face life in prison, which people consider appropriate. Now, how was the person who killed the lion punished? People probably feel it is insufficient.

In terms of why people care more when animals die than humans, I think it has to do with the perception of them being innocent like babies, while many humans who are murdered are viewed to be not innocent, albeit perhaps not deserving of death.

 

I've seen far more outrage on Facebook over a LION, compared to Kate....especially from the Left. The few Facebook links about Kate's murder actually had people defending the Illegal's RIGHT to be here. Can you believe that (*)(*)(*)(*)?

 

What a great post! My spouse simply cannot understand why a dead lion in a starving nation rates more ink than dead americans or dead american baby parts. She (and I) is convinced the nation is too sick to survive. The rot is too deep. When a nation gives its greatest enemy a path to nuclear weapons and then funds the thing, when a nation pays a company to sell baby parts, when the circus of a dead lion continents away trumps real, dead Americans killed by illegals and the illegal gets defended...well, other said it better
