now I somewhat agree with your information... but how can we be outraged that justice won't be achieved, when its perfectly legal to hunt lions in that country... in fact I think most people are unaware its legal to hunt all sorts of "majestic" animals... some endangered and some not... I think its the perception, oh its just another woman, just another gun crime, just another american... and on the flip side to lend some credibility to your statement, oh this was a poor defenseless animal who was viciously lured into his death...

yet I wonder how many people understood, that lion ate a gazelle earlier that day that he chased down and compressed his powerful jaws around the neck of the weak defenseless gazelle until it spurted blood from its mouth as it was gasping for air, minutes passed with this lions mouth crushing its throat, while still alive other lions ate part of its backside as it was struggling and kicking for life... granted I made all that up for dramatic show, but it happens daily with lions, usually the women hunt and the men eat it so that also is ironic... but how many people who think this is some poor defenseless animal, realize what that animal just did to an animal hours earlier possibly...

I don't get it...

is it the hatred of guns... is it the hatred of humans... do people think at least the gazelle had a sporting chance to get away so its more fair... is it because it was supposed to be a lion off limits to the world, despite the fact lions in preserves are killed by not just other lions, but many other animals on that preserve... do people realize some game wardens on those preserves, actually kill some of the lions themselves, often to speed up the genetic diversity to ensure strong genes moving forward, is anyone outraged when game wardens in the very preserves kill a lion the exact same way?

I said hunting for sport (protected animals in this case btw), not hunting for food... and I did not say they should go to prison for life, I asked a question, no one said hunting should not be allowed...... that is silly

I read a article somewhere yesterday that they had taken a poll IN Zimbabwe and the folk there, the folk actually involved, fail to see the issue. They cannot understand why folk continents away would rather worry about a dangerous animal than millions of folk facing starvation on a daily basis....which brings us back to the first post.

Can you post 25,000 people unarmed innocent people killed by bad cops? Because that is how many illegal aliens are currently serving time in state and federal prisons on homicide.

I find it hard to understand why liberals find the need to draw a moral equivalency with regard to the subject of homicide of American citizens?

I think the point is made in the OP, that liberals will condemn the killer of one lion, but facilitate the murder of tens of thousands of Americans, and then call people racist if they object to their facilitating of the murder of tens of thousands of Americans.

That 'park animal' was out of the park, lured or not, and was exceptionally dangerous...I live in a city that is regularly visited by Mountain Lions and our public safety folk, oddly enough, shoot one or two a year. While the animal rights crowd squeals each time, the rest of the community seems to find the idea of their kids being cat food trumping the rights of the dangerous predator...Put another way, it is fine to develop a morally superior attitude when it is not your own kids being put in danger..

In terms of the gazelle, I think the difference is that the lion does not have a choice. He (or his women) must hunt and kill or die of starvation. People who hunt lions aren't usually doing it because the alternative is to starve to death. Also, the legal status of something doesn't automatically change how people feel about something, e.g. abortion. I'm just guessing here though, because I'm not particularly outraged.

25,000 does sound like a lot, but what is the age and income adjusted rate compared to non-aliens? I'm not saying it's lower - but it would be more useful to understand what's going on. If it's the same or not significantly different, then they're just people being people and every breath they take is too much for people who didn't want them here in the first place. If it is higher even when adjusted, well then you have a point.

the problem is we live next to a country were so many people want to flee it to come to our great country.... most of them good, a few bad apples too

if we went after the employers, this would not be a issue.... well maybe it would, maybe then only criminals would come over... not the good ones looking for work (like our criminals going to Mexico and Canada, one was like 1 mile away from Canada just a couple weeks ago)
