This is a persuasion of mine: the only reason why Arab powers have begun to sustain the idea of an independent State of Palestine is the creation of Israel. Without Israel, Palestine would be a divided land under the domain of the surrounding Arab powers. Which is your opinion?
I doubt that would matter. They just don't like being homeless, as they are under the Israelis. It's not hard to empathize with. It really isn't.
So you would exclude Egypt. Once sure about the possession of Sinai, do you imagine that Egypt would have ignored the destiny of Palestine? - - - Updated - - - This is substantially what I imagine too [may be after an Arab war, with the three powers contending the land, and I guess overall Jerusalem]. - - - Updated - - - The Arab powers didn't "empathized" with Palestinians, as for I know, they attacked Israel, and Jordan didn't declare it was going to gain territories for the future independent State of Palestine ...
Ah, they just would be better off in their old territories and homes. It's really not remotely hard to empathize.
There would be a Palestine as its merely a geographic location. The place was a mess before the Jews came there and made the place livable and then all the surrounding people flooded in their for a better way of life just as they came to the US. Without the Jews it would be like all the other arab nations surrounding it.
Not sure what you mean... Sinai has always been Egyptian... and they don't want Palestine or Jordan. I used to go to Jordan and the Holy Lands before the 1967 war.. It was fine with Jordan administering the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
What many do not realize is that Jordan is in reality Muslim Palestine. The Palestinians even attacked them on Black September
Palestine had a population of 700,000 in 1900.. 70% were Muslims and 10% were Christians.. They shared an Arab culture and a language.. They were NOT Europeans.. or socialists. Tell me about your trips to Palestine.
700,000 Palestinian refugees were forced out and into Lebanon and Jordan.... That changes things significantly in poor countries with inadequate water and arable land. I have seen the refugee camps in Jordan and in Lebanon... How about YOU?
Palestine and Jordan were administered separately, but they were both part of the British Mandate of Palestine. If Israel hadn't been established, the British would have given the land to Jordan.
Ibn Battuta and Rabbi Benjamin Tudela reported that there were very few Jews in Palestine as did the Pilgrim of Bordeaux.. Without billions in foreign aid, charitable contributions and reparations from Germany Israel would also be poor. Look at what they have done to the water table, the Jordan River and the Dead Sea.. inspite of the Lowdermilk and Johnston Plans fo the 1950s.
Ah, this is a useful contribution. So you consider that the incoming United Nation would have accepted the British decision to give that land to Jordan. Can we accept this as well plausible? I cannot say otherwise, thinking well. - - - Updated - - - There is a particular which I find quite intriguing: the involvement of Egypt with Gaza. I make reference to the Egyptian occupation of the Strip [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupation_of_the_Gaza_Strip_by_Egypt].
All except Israel. How many Jews live in these lands ? How many Christians are being murdered there merely for being Christians ? - - - Updated - - - They choose the wrong side besides Jordan is Palestine
Even without oil Israel still has a higher standard of living for its citizens than those around them and not because of foreign aid. In the first war it was the Muslims who got all the aid while Israel was embargoed. Israel has a strong economy
Yes, why not? A related question is when ... when would have London renounced to its mandatory? I have the impression that the declaration of independence of Israel put the UK in an unexpected context. They hesitated [while Washington and Moscow, and Ankara, didn't].
It happens I wonder what would have happened if Arab powers would haven't attacked Israel ... I cannot exclude Palestinians would have accepted the partition plan and the cohabitation with the Jewish State, but you know ... speculative history is just a nice speculative intellectual exercise ...
Look at the Israeli maps as they show the movement of the wall and the routing up river valleys and around valuable land in moves that can not possibly be designed for security. Who ever heard of capturing the river valleys for security??? Try reading the news once in a while, documenting the constant property theft and movement of people off their land, the securing of the Jordon river on the opposite side of West Bank from Israel, the burning and uprooting of olive orchards, the rule by military law of a foreign power. There are no elements of ethnic cleansing that are absent. Read the statements of Netanyahu's cabinet as they state point blank that they have every intent to clear out Palestinians and capture the land to incorporate as extensions to Israel. Listen to Netanyahu who chose these cabinet members, who declared before the election his intent to incorporate West Bank piece by cleansed piece. Remember his efforts to declare Jews to have greater value before the law than do Christians or Arabs - even if they are citizens of Israel. Listen to how they deny Arabs the right to return to their own property on the grounds that they can't handle that many people, while reaching out in attempts to increase their population through immigration of Jews (to the exclusion of Arabs and Christians). There is NO question about what is going on here.
