Honestly back then I wasnt looking to be a little turd...I really wanted answers to my questions and fully expected the adults to provide me with answers...instead of answers I got anger......I thought this to be very odd....I found it even more odd the adults never asked these questions. You can see that same anger and sarcasm in the board responses from the faithful. Ask them even a simple question and they will meet you with sarcasm, insults and anger. This is a common human defense mechanism when backed into a corner and forced to answer questions you dont have answers to but thought you did.
There are numerous reasons: The Bible puts the Global Flood around roughly 2100-2300 BC. There is no Global flood layer at that time period like there would have to be if such a flood happened. Genesis is a rewriting of a Sumerian Flood myth. How did Noah and 3 sons round up all the land species. How long does it take to get 2 Polar Bears from the Arctic and bring them back. Answer this question and you will realize that the story is a fairy tale.
I concur and I have never suggested that they should "park their brain to be a Christian." I also have never suggested that anyone take the 'Bible' literally. In fact, the 'Bible' also instructs in the same manner: "2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Now what do you suppose that means?
But you already know that most people call the 'Bible' illogical. That is because it is not logical.... it is Theological. Please recognize the differences between 'logical' and 'Theological'... they are very significant. And because of those differences, secular logic plays no role in what is 'Theological'. My answer was also being sarcasm about your question relating to that which is lacking information to provide. Have you yet been able to answer my question relative to what fed the information to the DNA? Not hardly. It seems that you guys just want to make up stuff and expect everyone to accept what you say as true.
Yes, I was just kidding. Don't blame them, they are just emulating the person that they think will let them survive their own deaths, who was a rage monster: not only the 3 villages, but he also called people "dogs" (such hatred), and is so angry at Hindus (for example) that not only will he red-line them after death but will see that they get tortured worse than Saddam ever tortured his worst enemy. Their anger is a result of Jesus' hatred and intolerance for anyone, anyone(!), who doesn't think like him. You are better than Jesus, of course, so you moved beyond needing him as a comforting invisible friend. - - - Updated - - - This is the understatement of the century.
We have already been through this but I will repeat it one more time just for you.... 'Beam me up Scotty.' I figure that applying a little science fiction to it, might make it easier for you to comprehend. It is about as much a fairy tale to the Christian as the "Tale of two or more universes" is to the scientific community. Belief GO, Belief.
No one knows what at the center of a black hole...that doesnt mean god did it. We didnt know what the surface of pluto was like a year ago, that didnt mean noahs ark was real. DNA, black holes, and pluto can all be studied with science. Noahs ark can only ever be studied by bigfoot and lochness monster scientists. They also believe in things that do not exist. In fact the bigfooters are very much like theologists..they believe in bigfoot yet never ask themselves why at the end of every episode no one ever finds bigfoot. They continually make excuses as to why they know it exists yet cant find it. Im guessing god may be bigfoot. Everyone sees it everywhere but cant tell us where it is or what it factually looks like. Its not actually about finding bigfoot, the money is made in the searching for bigfoot. - - - Updated - - - No one knows what at the center of a black hole...that doesnt mean god did it. May I suggest this reading: http://www.bethinking.org/does-science-disprove-god/does-science-contradict-religion : it might answer some of the questions you have ,, then again, it might not.
No, I hope not, because, you and I are far more moral than Jesus is, because you and I care about humanity far more than Jesus ever did because you and I would, say, eliminate the Devil if we had Jesus' alleged super-powers, as an example. I believe in you and humanity more than I believe in the magic invisible man who is too immoral to eliminate the Devil.
Well, I appreciate that vote of confidence that you place in me, however, IMHO it is a point in which might be construed as a delusion on your part. Why? I would never claim to be superior to Jesus nor more moral nor possessing any greater power or authority (and probably not even a close match to His). But thanks for the input.
I would say probably.. He went to Temple .. and may have been taught orally rather than reading a "book".
That's because they were just ancient goat herders and barbarians (ex: they thought it's ok to beat a slave as long as he doesn't die w/in 48 hours), so they didn't KNOW how old the earth was! The genealogies add up to around 4000 years from Adam to Jesus, so of course the Bible is a fairy tale, obviously. But you are in good company, as even that nutcase Dr. Ben Carson believes the fairy tale: "Ben Carson: Big Bang A Fairy Tale, Theory Of Evolution Encouraged By The Devil". http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczy...ution-encoura?utm_term=.dddKdAbgO9#.vke2Epgwd - - - Updated - - - Dodo birds, probably. Ah, that explains alot.
These barbarians were too stupid to write stuff down. Jesus was equally incompetent, as he didn't tell his disciples "write this down, this is the most important teachings in history" (allegedly.) I think my 9-year-old niece would be smarter than Jesus, as she would have said: "you know, maybe we should be writing down this stuff Jesus is telling us, instead of just handing the stuff down verbally, where it will get distorted and/or lost." Not sure we should worship someone who is not even as smart as a 9-year-old.
I'm not a fundamentalist. Do you think all theists are? Or are they easier to pigeon hole if you assume they all are? The genealogy says nothing about the age of the earth. It only speaks about the age of Adam.
And of course the all-knowing, all-powerful, "son of god" was too stupid to correct that deficiency in the Bible, over the last 2000 years.
So HUMANITY was only a mere 4000 years old when Jesus was born, correct? So Richard Dawkins is wrong when he says that Homo Erectus preceded our species, and that our species is in the neighborhood of 200,000 years old? So who do you think is more correct, Dawkins/science or the Bible? (Remember, the Bible has "god" on it's side, so this should be a pretty easy question to answer.)
From the replies above to your question, yes, it does appear that he would have known....so can you say that Jesus got it wrong (believing in Adam/Eve)?
I think what we have seen from this thread is how ugly the atheist ideology can get. I think its interesting to see such ugly attributes...hatred, mockery, insults, vanity, arrogance, contempt, high schoolish behavior all packed in one little thread. Ya'll ought to read it from beginning to end...its just yucky. Kind of like the unhappy bullies I've seen in high school who get a kick and a sense of power through hatred. Have a nice day
