If mankind is causing a planet killing warming cycle we should immediately kill the biggest producers of CO2. The little bit of warming that we see from time to tome is caused by sun spots and volcanoes. If the liberal horde wants to stop driving and using electricity that's fine with me but I will keep my HEMI Dodge.

 

Seems reasonable and rational to me considering ISIS is very difficult to fight personally but fighting AGW is very, very doable and practical (and almost everyone on the planet has contributed to the problem...not so with ISIS).

If it wasn't "global warming", it would be some other calamity. In the 70s it was "global cooling". The meme of "give us all your money and control over your life so we can stop global warming" is shorthand for things they have proposed. Conversion to "green" or "renewable" energy sources has been manifestly, hugely expensive in various places where they have tried it. Obama admitted he wanted to drive coal companies out of business in an interview in 2007 and now he has nearly done it - removing our cheapest source of fuel for electricity until we were saved by the oil and gas businesses.

Deforestation is your starting point, yet emissions control seems to be the major focus NOT deforestation. The way they're going about it is plugging the pin hole in the bottom of the boat while ignoring the fist size hole gushing water. What steps has the IPCC and the UN taken to curtail the deforestation. Common sense dictates we stop the deforestation FIRST then see how financially intrusive they must get to stop any man made warming. They are doing it backwards, that what tells me it's a scam for profit.

The scientific community is competitive, which means that everyone constantly has motivation to disprove everyone else. If a climate scientist could disprove anthropogenic climate change in a way that stands up to peer review, they would be legendary. Every journal would want to be the first to print it, once they verified it was true, because it would be earth shattering. Sure, many are funded specifically to research it, rather than general climate, and they might have some motive to block others, but they aren't the people in control of journals.

Science is the fundamental seeking of the truth, wherever it may go. The process is such that lies are, at least, very heavily disputed. If that many scientists believe something, I very well believe it too. There are far, far more than 100 climate scientists, but at least 97 of those 100 have dedicated their entire life to studying something, and came to a single conclusion. I can't think of a better word than arrogance, to think that people who don't dedicate their lives to the matter can magically come to a differing conclusion and be correct.

The 97% comes from the cartoonist and AGW advocate John Cook and his pals review of paper abstracts and has serious flaws. It is a populist meme and literally means nothing.
