You have no say so in the matter. You're an foreign national. Why don't you go look into your own government killing native people. Of do we need to remind you of the sins of your own government.

Bowerbird, we all understand your frustration with gun owners in America not conceding your obvious superiority to our beliefs, customs, and Constitution. We just simply couldn't care less what you think.

You do not understand Criminal activity in the U.S. or how gun control advocates do not really rely on facts, you also discount many people's life experiences involving gun use in saving lives, those in Law enforcement, and those that have served in the Military for fake statistics compiled by Anti Gun Organisations with a distinct Anti Gun agenda.

Then I suggest you do not hang around international sites on the internet

    - - - Updated - - -

And you seem to discount many stories from outside USA where these myths are sern for what they are

This is an AMERICAN gun control section. The international section lies elsewhere. And I'd suggest you keep to Australia's problems. Or do we have to revive the thread on the many sins of the down under government? Why not keep a native alive? You have no say in our business. BTW how did that gun ( and explosive) control work for you in Turkey?

Ask yourself if you would rather have to walk around armed or if you would rather walk around unarmed because the chances of needing a gun are vanishingly small

If a gun is so necessary in America then why not elsewhere?

HMMM what are Turkeys gun and explosive laws like? More similar to OZ or the US? I see a pattern emerging in the glass houses

The chance that I will need to use my fire extinguisher in my house is exceedingly small, non the less, I have one.

There are many, many countries where carrying a gun for personal safety is necessary.

Go ahead, I am ready for where I believe you will take this....

Would you rather have fire extinguishers or not because the chances of needing an extinguishers are vanishingly small. Would you rather have car insurance or not because the chances of needing car insurance are vanishingly small. Would you rather have home owners insurance or not because the chances of needing home owners insurance are vanishingly small.

LOL Guns are used for many purposes...necessary doesn't even describe the proper context, wanna try again, glass house?

No it's not and is exactly my point. Gun control didn't work there, yet you persist in American issues. It didn't work in France either, but not a peep from you. Do tell? It's obvious this is not about gun control. Could this be about attention seeking behavior?

and people laugh when you tell them there is an international conspiracy against gun ownership. The real type is that gun banners are motivated by public safety

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh I disagree. Gun Control has worked as intended in those nations. Honest people have a hard time owning firearms and sport shooting is expensive and generally reserved for the rich. That is what the anti gun movement wants

I have in My life been thankful I had both Guns and Fire Extinguishers as both have saved My life on many occasions.

They have done as much in England, making the very act of self defense a crime, and whatever item you happen to use, Instantly becomes an "Offensive Weapon"....

But....But....But....the nutters think it's OK for you to die for lack of a reasonable defensive method instead living with one. How dare you be prepared!

Remember how the British insisted that all guns be secured in a Gun Club's safe, and if at home, in a safe locked away and not readily available ?

The idea has been and is a criticism of Our so called "Lax Gun Laws" that allow Us to have easy access to Guns when We need them, Gun control = Gun bans and restricted use of Guns, hence why I balk at the very idea or talk of "Home Defense" I need to defend myself where ever I may happen to be.

Yes ! a most Revolting development indeed !

We don't "have to" walk around armed. It's a choice.
Why would I not choose to carry a something that I have complete control of, and has the potential to save my life? It is never seen by anyone, and there is no downside to carrying it.
My everyday carry: wallet, keys, sunglasses, compact firearm, phone, and pocket knife. It wouldn't occur to me to leave home without any of these. Where is the problem?

It's a myth to think a gun can do anything on it's own.

    1) The person has to acquire the firearm (legal or illegal) 2) Must also acquire ammo (again legal or illegal) 3) must physically load the firearm and depending upon type of firearm must chamber the round of ammo 4) must point the firearm and pull the trigger.

I can take any one of my firearms, load it and set it on the table aimed right at you and nothing will happen...The firearm is a tool, nothing more...Is it lethal, yes...But it is also an equalizer...I am 5'11", 210 lbs, well trained by the US military, ex-boxer/wrestler, former competition shooter...I am assuming that as a woman of normal proportions, I would put you at 5'2" - 5'6" 125 lbs. If I was bent on harming you physically, trust me there is not a damn thing you could do to stop me, unless you are armed with a firearm. I am an athlete, I work out 2.5 hours a day, trust me, you are overmatched...Unless you are armed with a firearm and I am not.

That's why we say it is not the firearm, it is the person. A firearm is a tool, nothing more.
