Maybe they'll buy "Trump GMO seeds....the biggest, best, most wonderful GMO seeds ever!" Maybe they already have?
Even if GMO are not a health hazard (we have indirect evidence that it is, like unusually increased cancer rates) - GM crops are the danger to ecosystem. There is overproduction of food in world anyway, so there is no immediate need to endanger ecosystem and yourself, sacrificing quality for output boost.
Brilliantly stated! But I would like to see a response to climate change initiated that would go a long way toward feeding the one billion or more malnourished humans on earth. http://www.politicalforum.com/opini...saving-new-orleans-florida-rising-oceans.html The Sahara Forest Project...and saving New Orleans and Florida from rising oceans! Did you know that there is an Islamic prophecy that the Islamic desert regions would be turned green in the latter days????? This topic is of special interest to me because I live about a hundred miles from the Bay of Fundy. I live five kms from the ocean on the eastern part of Nova Scotia. In my area the difference between low tide to high tide is about one meter! The land form of the Bay of Fundy has a funnelling effect on tidal waters and so parts of the Fundy have a difference of fifteen to seventeen meters between low to high tide! The question on my mind would be if ocean levels were to rise about thirty centimeters in my part of Nova Scotia, would they rise by four or five meters along parts of the Fundy???? There are 143,000 acres of farmland taken back from the Fundy by dikes that are probably in the position of the proverbial canary in a coal mine in relation to rising ocean levels! Every cubic meter of H2O added to the water table of nations in the Middle EAst will NOT be on top of New Orleans, Florida, Holland, Bangladesh or those 143,000 acres along the Fundy!!!!! I felt a huge sense of relief when I first heard about The Sahara Forest Project! https://www.facebook.com/SaharaForestProject Sahara Forest Project April 19
I grow plant and I do a lot of research and have found the fundamental flaw in my production system and I think many others overlook the same thing. Actually 2 things...biodiversity in planting and biology in the soil. I overlooked the biology and my plants suffered. A farmer should farm two things above all. These are light and carbon. Carbon drives farm profit. It is not herbicides, pesticides, or GMO crops. It is carbon and light. The more carbon a soil contains the better it grows plants. Biodiversity eliminates the need for herbicides, pesticides, and GMO plants. Biology in the soil sequesters carbon and feeds plants. Plant roots actually injects liquid carbon into the soil and feeds soil biology. A fertilizer is a salt. If you cover your soil with salt the microbes die because they only have salt water to drink. Besides, tons of nitrogen is in the air that can be used to fertilze plants for free using legumes. If one were interested they could research the soil food web and watch the videos by Gabe brown on soil building. For me it is fascinating. - - - Updated - - - I grow plant and I do a lot of research and have found the fundamental flaw in my production system and I think many others overlook the same thing. Feeding the world is not needed? India now has eggplants that don't need daily poisons due to GMO's and as a result farmers live longer.
On the one hand you have corporations and their willing political lackeys doing things which hold back food production in some places. On the other there is this rhetoric pushed that "we cant feed the world without GMO" . Personally i think thats overstated, but its good for GMO pushers like monsanto. There are thousands of millions of litres of irrigation water in some places that is renewable and unused.. some aquifers and places like northern australia (lake argyle for one) being just some examples. 7 thousand million litres of irrigation water underneath me right now that can be extracted per annum (its been capped at a level that demonstrates no significant draw down of the aquifer) .. yet its unused... there is little incentive for people to produce food when the corporations and end re-sellers (corporate supermarkets) squeeze every body down so hard while posting multi million dollar profits. Add to that the removal of trade barriers and the availability of cheap labour in places such as india, where globalists such as Lynn Forrester De Rothschild (friends of the Clintons who were instrumental in various changes to trade barriers might i add) have food interests. So you end up with vast resources not being utlilzed to produce food, because, well, its cheaper to do it in the 3rd world for one. Heres some more info about aquifers... http://primarywater.org/
It is not in the plant it is in the soil. Chemical fertilizers destroy the life in soil. Soil without life is dirt. How did plants survive before commercial fertilizers and GMO crops? And who is getting rich off of commercial fertilizers and GMO plants? The poison is needed because the ecology is out of whack. When you kill the bad guys you also kill the good guys. And who recovers first? The bad guys.
I have read that one of the only substances that can restore the beneficial bacteria, (humus) to soil that has been sterilized by too much chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides for too many years.......... is cow manure!
mother russia may be corrupt, but its not as corrupt as the crony capitalists who sell poison to Americans for profits. their elites are patriotic, our elites are not patriotic.
I've been using MSM for detoxification and pain relief since 1999. It seems to do exactly what the research physicians who wrote the book stated that it would do. www.msm-info.com/ (Ten dollars per bottle at Walmart for the cheap brand).
There are ways to restore farmland and one key is to have a living root in the ground as long as possible. Another key is using as little mechanical disturbance as possible. But manure is also a very good thing. I have been hauling tons of horse manure myself. Chicken manure works real well. But the best manure???? The stuff you get for free.
I disagree and will continue to purchase GMO foods when convenient/cost-effective. The risks are negligible. The anti-GMO crowd run on paranoia and unrealistic safety standards. Life is unsafe - we make tradeoffs all the time. Have a treehouse? Your kid's risk of a quadriplegia just went up 10 fold. Do you want to hospitalize children? Are you a monster?!?!?! No, as it turns out you're just a normal person taking normal risks like everyone else. I do mostly grow my own food. The quality is better than store bought (either GMO or not), and I enjoy the self-sufficiency. Much cheaper in the long term too. There are very good reasons to grow your own food. But GMOs being harmful is not a very good one.
I know that what I am advocating must sound grandiose....... and unrealistic but...... based on what I have read of the Worgl, Austria local money experiment and especially its application in over one thousand USA communities during the Great Depression...... I believe that it is theoretically possible.... to combine local currencies... with film production cooperatives.... where organic farming is partly financed through the production of documentary and reality films.... combined with semi-reality science fiction films that address modern problems.....by setting the modern problem in a historical setting....... and much of this could be done in order to attempt to partly finance a vision of a utopian future that was shown to a fairly famous near death experiencer...... in other words.... that vision of the future becomes a concept for a number of film projects...... that help to inspire groups of people to combine their efforts, talents and resources toward a project..... http://www.politicalforum.com/canad...nce-unified-theory-modern-world-problems.html CanSo Dollars... could finance a Unified Theory of Modern World Problems?! ........ Here is what former Atheist Howard Storm was shown about a utopian world of about two centuries in the future..... that in some parts of the world could be planned and financed and set in motion within years..... or decades..... http://www.near-death.com/experiences/notable/howard-storm.html#a04 I read his book, My Descent Into Death about five years ago..... it was quite exceptional....... A group of people who are part of the New Age Movement accomplished something like this at Findhorn in Northern Scotland..... groups of Christian Evangelicals accomplished something similar in Guatamala.......(or was it Nicaragua)..... after a Christian "revival" happened there...... this can take many different forms........
No you don't get it. A GMO eggpplant suggest a BT toxin in the plant itself. This biological insecticide kills good insects as well as bad and it is possible, though not proven, kills bees as well. It is better to keep the predator insects alive by growing a biodiverse culture instead of strictly monoculture. How did farms and plants survive before poison was used? Man needs to work with nature rather than trying to impose his will on it.
It is why they are stored when harvested in an extremely low oxygen content storage facility until needed for the supermarket shelves.
My daughter happens to be the State Champion in culinary and culinary management. She won over 80,000 in scholarship money and is attending her first day of college today on a full ride scholarship. We eat very well.
Sugar...sucrose... is pretty much bad for people anyway. But I will admit I love the stuff. I put sugar on sugar coated cereal.
