The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy!

We aren't a democracy so......seems like everything is working the way its supposed to be.

So what? This is exactly why the candidates campaigned the way they did. Change the rules, you change the way they campaign. When a candidate wins the people who are upset will whine about it. Trump won. Get over it.

 

The elector college isn't the problem, it is the winner take all standard. But this is needed to provide fair representation for rural America. If the elections were based on only the popular vote, the cities would elect every President. So it is a key component in maintaining representation for all Americans.

The electoral college could still refuse to elect Trump. If he screws up too badly before then it could still happen. They are our safety valve in case the electorate goes insane and elects someone like... Trump! I am hoping for lots of 3AM tweets!

 

This is what I've been saying.... He won every single battleground in dominating fashion. If he wanted to drive out the vote in other states he could have.

 

He definitely needs more than one. I've rarely seen such desperation on this forum or any other forum. Blimey. Someone needs to offer Ronnie a shoulder to cry on.

Interesting fact from it: Absentee ballots are not counted unless deemed necessary. Historically about 67% of absentee ballots favor republican vote. That in itself changes the dynamics of the popular vote.[FONT=&amp]

Yeah I wasn't expecting him to be the one to lose it. They are offering safe spaces for people having trouble with the election to take naps and try to calm down...you know like we do for children.
And they wonder why they lost.

 

I am personally against the electoral college.

That said, Trump did not lose the popular vote because there was no race on the popular vote, Trump did not compete on the popular vote, neither did Hillary. The race was on the electoral college vote and nothing else and you can't lose or win what you're not competing on.

Had the race been on the popular vote, Trump and Hillary would have competed in different states using different GOTV tactics and we'd have found out who won then. The only race they had was the race for electoral votes, Trump won, libs disputing that are sore losers.

PS It's like if in hockey or other sports, a losing team would claim victory because it made more shots on goal. Totally absurd and pathetic, but par for the course for the libs.

They lost the Presidency, the house, the senate and...(this is the best part).....total control of their faculties.

 

And I seem to remember when Trump pulled ahead in the polls the Hillary supporters claimed she still had the electoral votes to win. Funny how they whine when Hillary loses the electoral votes.
