If by "fill Obama's shoes" the OP means get the NY Times and Washington Post to write nice things about him, the answer is clearly no. But somehow, I don't think that's what Mr. Trump worried about.

The same Obama who said he'd take it as a personal insult if Hillary Clinton didn't win? Welcome to the personal insult.

As to the 2+ million vote margin that Hillary "won" by, that's probably just the number of illegals that showed up to vote in California. Se habla espaƱol...

That would be nice, wouldn't it?

Over a crook and a royal family? I believe the fools knew exactly what they were doing.

Exactly. Instead of shouting that Trump doesn't need this job, instead of shouting that Trump will be taking a $1 a year salary for doing this job, instead of recognizing that Trump's moving into the White House represents an unneeded complication for the Trump family, those on the left simply want to complain that Trump actually runs a business that has his name on it. All the fools that voted for him probably look on this as a good thing: finally, a "politician" who is not interested in sucking off the teat of the American taxpayer. A truly bold and innovative idea.

Not just the Republicans, I assure you. Get the popcorn ready, it's going to be a fun four years...

Well, wouldn't it have been better for Rev Wright to say something like "We should all be praying that America addresses these various injustices"? Instead, he's willing to damn the very country which affords him the right to shout whatever he wants to shout. So yes, you're right, people should play the whole quote and explain why it's still a very stupid thing to say...

    Oh please. Physician, heal thyself...

While Obama's second term ends with the approval of most Americans, the principle challenge that remains for his successor is reducing the growing chasm between a privileged elite and everyone else. The incredible concentration of the nation's wealth in precious few pockets is an inequity with both moral and practical implications for the nation.

Even he he stiffs the folks he promised that he would bring back high-paying manufacturing jobs and restore coal to its essentiality of yore, the enormous economic disparity must be reconciled.

If he can begin to correct that gross disparity, he will have a legacy of which he can be proud, regardless of the level of public disapproval of his other antics.

(The aberrant, alienated, chronic Obama haters will persist in sniveling, of course. I expect that.)

The radical far left progressives have taken over the Democratic Party. Their answer to failure is to move farther left. So far that hasn't worked but time will tell.

(*)(*)(*)(*) his injustices, and his race pimping, black enslaving ways.
He deserves to be lynched by intelligent black folks, tired of being labeled as helpless, and used by whoring political activists making bank off the backs of their fellow citizens

It's hard to accept that the chickens you write about have come home to roost.

Why would Trump want to do as poorly as Obama? What did Obama accomplish again?

Neither black people nor Rev Wright occupy any space in your world except to bash the left with because you want to end the welfare state.

The ACA is a disaster. Pulling troops against military advice gave Iraq to ISI. FAIL so far.

Without sounding condescending. I think it will be easy for Trump to do better than our current POTUS. IMHO, it won't be that tough. Actually, quite a bit easier than many (on the left) most likely think.
    Shoot, he's already looking better!

Growth is worse than it's ever been under any president.

(U)ACA is an unmitigated disaster and helped make sure Hillary didn't get elected.

Pulling troops from Iraq led to the rise and international spread of ISIS.

When I ask what he accomplished, I was looking for things that were positive. In case I wasn't clear, that is.

Are you saying that the American voters in 1952 were low information voters ? I find that hard to believe.

Obama's actual approval rating is 35%

The same people who conduct the presidential approval ratings were the same pollsters who polled the American voters and predicted that crooked Hillary would win in a landslide.

Obama's approval ratings are affirmative action ratings. You don't want to be called a racist if you don't approve of Obama.

There's also a Presidential, Commander in Chief approval rating and when Obama hit the single digit approval rating in 2014 the Military Times was threaten not to publish the results or they would be cut off from access to the military. Obama legacy will be the worse CnC in America's history.

The highest approval rating Obama ever had was in January 22-24 of 2009 at 69%. It was two good days for Obama.
G.W. Bush's highest approval ratings was 90%. That was during the month of September in 2001 for obvious reasons.

Who in their right mind WOULDN'T want to end the welfare state?

All welfare does is keep those among us who are least able to discern good decision making vs. bad in a constant state of subservience and beholding to big daddy gub'ment.

Welfare, while intended to be a "safety net", has morphed over the years into an ideology of generational inheritance of handouts.

Both sides of the political aisle are guilty of exploiting that for superficial political gain.

Welfare robs those it intends to help of their ability to actually solve their own problems.

The left's former messiah, Slick Willy Clinton, enacted Republican-created welfare reform (Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act) in 1996 and it yielded tangible results.

Yes - as much as I despise nearly all the Clintons stand for, even I can give credit where credit is due. President Clinton PRESIDED OVER (read: "He let Congress do its job") a period of great, if short-lived, prosperity.

Give people the power and opportunity to make their own lives better - and stay the hell outta their lives!

You'd be surprised at just what people are capable of...if you STOP telling them they can't help themselves!

I am among the do not approve side of Obama so to me that is not the right thing to do, to act as if his personal cult following has to do with the past election.

It is not that Obama shows a mean side to his office. I think his smile counts for a lot to most of the public rating him.

I think that he favors, and long has, keeping his image front and center. Few presidents can hog the center of attention as has Obama. It is not possible to catch the news where the media is not featuring him.

If he did not mug for the camera constantly, I believe his popularity would really have slid way down.

Trump is an expert on the same thing. i expect he will go out also to a high public approval. The results of the vote tally where some few states overcame weaker populated states to count for this myth called popular vote may in fact be repeated by Trump when he runs for his second time and at the end of his presidency.

They ignore that the ultra high approval ratings given to GHW Bush did not prevent Clinton from winning the close election.
