They should have said, "make the world come alive again".

While the Right slobbers over themselves with their victory, everyone in the world needs to understand that we "ALL" lost.

While the soon to be climate denier commander-in-chief is busy setting up all his business deals across the globe as a conflict of interest before taking office, he, they, us, may want to take a look at what has happened to the Great Barrier Reef off Australia's coast; http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/...arrier-reef-australia-coral-die-off/94554934/ Two thirds of it has died. Not sure if any of you on the Right understand what that means, but thankfully educated people do. Death to one of the largest/richest coral reefs in the world because of global warming will destroy the ocean food chain in that area. Again, some of us understand the magnitude of this problem, while many could care less.

It's ironic isn't it? At such a perilous time, with the threat of a global die off to this planet, the U.S. elects the most unqualified, uncaring, uneducated, individual to be a steward of this dying planet we are killing.

We couldn't have picked a worst time to elect such a horrible leader.

My question is, what ecological disaster is next that the leadership will ignore?

Just more left wing fear mongering. Please tell us how Hillary would have saved the great barrier reef?

I didn't vote for Trump. But, Hillary Clinton was not going to do you any favors, well not unless you are the type that donates millions to the Clinton Foundation.

You Liberals seem to not realize that you left people with a (*)(*)(*)(*) alternative in Hillary Clinton.

Pardon me but Hillary Clinton used the State Department to grow the wealth of her foundation(s) by soliciting monies from nations which the US deals with and by trading government positions for donations.

Perhaps the Left should have objected to that behavior instead of pretending it never happened.

    Precedence: Its a dangerous thing.

Wow, two of them can't even address the actual thread because they of course have no counter argument, and the other is just lost to the wilderness calling global warming of the barrier reefs "fear mongering". Yet, in the next breath acknowledges the death of those reefs by questioning whether someone could have saved them or not. :roflol: Wow, this crowd doesn't waste any time diving into the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) bowl.

I don't see you adding anything to the discussion worth reading. I have a college degree so that means I can't be a Republican right? I am tired of you people trying to make it out that all Republicans are stupid. That is racist and wrong on every level. Do you get off on putting other people down?

The global warming thing has been going on for a long time. Many scientists believe our country goes through cycles of cooling and warming. Greenland for example used to be green. England in the medieval period had what is known as "The little ice age" where everything was frozen over for years. People have even found miners tools in a cave that was frozen solid for many decades. Yes our earth is warming but it will eventually come full circle and go back to it's cooling process which could lead to another ice age. Loosing one of our most valuable reefs is not good but there could be many reasons for this.

You have to remember our country is not doing so good and we need someone that wants to actually try to turn that around. You will never like 100% of the decisions any president makes and Hillary would have been no exception.

Pardon me once again but do you think you set a good tone for discussion with your OP or with this post?

You opened with a baseless and hypocritical dig against Trump, saturated a story about the Great Barrier Reef with insults and insinuations against Republican voters, and then misrepresented the facts because 2/3's of the Reef didn't die ...2/3's of the area of one defined section of the Reef is showing a 47-83% range of damage of the coral in that section.

Your post posed the premise "Trumps Presidency means everything dies" which made it fair game for the other posters to remind you that Hillary Clinton was never going to be some great enviro-warrior.

And just like Matthewthf said, this position of the Left that a everybody is some sort of "uneducated racist sexist bigoted Islamaphobic homophobic transphobic" because they disagree with the Left is getting really old and -surprise- was a major contributing factor to why the Republican Party now controls the entire government.

Do you care about the environment and want to see leaders in charge that care about it too?

Ok, here's three things Leftists can do to rally people to their cause:

    a. Put support behind leaders who aren't just using the mob power of global warming hysteria to redistribute wealth, cripple the economy, and punitively tax business that don't put their dollars behind Democrat candidates.

    b. Stop standing upon highly controversial, often flawed, theoretical data and assumptions while refusing to question the motives behind it and belligerently screaming "if you don't agree you're an idiot".

    c. Recognize the fact that while yes its a "global" issue, that people don't want to have their freedoms and financial futures dictated to them by a small collection of elitists sitting in some world-super-government building half way around the globe.

Global warming is natural. It's happened before and is a part of how earth's climate constantly fluctuates. Take it from the BBC: http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20150914-when-global-warming-made-our-world-super-hot

In the late 1980s, as the world's governments were waking up to the problem of climate change, the mud at the bottom of the ocean near Antarctica revealed a surprise. Earth had lived through rapid global warming before.

About 55 million years ago global temperatures spiked. Then, as now, sea levels rose, the oceans became more acidic, and species disappeared forever.

Little wonder, then, that researchers view this ancient event – known as the "Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum" or PETM – as a potential goldmine of useful information for understanding modern climate change.

We now know that the PETM was one of the most rapid and dramatic instances of climate change in Earth's history. Its causes are still up for debate, but there seem to be eerie parallels with the causes of modern climate change. What is absolutely clear is that the PETM's effects were far-reaching. It may have altered the course of life on Earth.

We're still coming out of the last ice age, and the mini ice age wasn't long ago at all on a geologic time scale. So, let's stop pretending that it's humanity causing all of the warming and that voting Democrat will make any freaking difference.

Synchronicity innit? Here I am on the laptop and watching the news on SBS and there's a story about how the Reef is in trouble. Forget the percentages, look at the big picture. A lot of it is dead and a lot of it is dying and it's down to an increase in water temperature. Of course it may have happened before eh? Maybe when an asteroid hit the Earth did over the dinosaurs and warmed up the ocean and killed the Reef. But right now it's in the process of bleaching. NASA is involved in research now, our local profs at James Cook University are working on it. One of the profs just told viewers that in 20 years of his diving on the Reef that he has never seen it in such a bad state.

We are letting the rest of you down. The Reef belongs to all of us, you lot as well. We in Australia are only temporary custodians and we are letting you down by allowing all sorts of rotten things to be done to the Reef, not just warming but also stuffing it up with coal carriers and dumping (*)(*)(*)(*) into the ocean on it.

    We owe you an apology.

Seeing as the reef is located in Australia, it's a problem for the Australian government. Not for the United States. I guess, we'll have to somehow lower emissions even lower for the US.(According to most statistics, the U.S is in the middle of the ranks in terms of warming.)

Hey, could we do better? I guess we could. But I think if we're a positive contributor, we've done our job. Ask the other far more polluters to do their job.

The Democrats ran on climate change, transgender bathrooms and "safe places" for unhinged college kids who need psychiatrists because of left wing propaganda. NORMAL Americans rejected that stupidity because we are interested in bringing the economy back despite what left wing polls fabricated. (My favorite fabrication is the poll that says Obama's approval ratings are through the roof. LOL) We are also concerned about national security and retooling Obama care. You know, important things...

With that college degree are you prepared to engage in the actual argument? The consensus among 97% of all scientists in the world claim that what is going on with the Great Barrier Reef is caused by humans. What's happening in Greenland is also on us as well, according to the leading scientists of our time.

Time to get your head out of the sand and stop worrying about the intelligence of Republicans. Try learning something useful for a change instead of attaching yourself to a party that is hell bent on dumbing down the world. It doesn't serve a purpose to be in denial of what is happening, while using the excuse that global warming is nothing more than a natural occurrence.

Get on board with those who see things for what they really are, instead of pretending this is all a natural phenomenon. Things like this are going on all across this globe. Not just England!

LOL, no wonder you stay confused and angry. You rely on erroneous information from left-wing outlets. The recent review of the barrier reef showed only 5% dying off which is well within natural die off.

I do expect the left wing meltdown to continue. It will continue to be supported by left-leaning outlets that are also melting down.

    We have
    Make America great again.
    You have
messengers of doom and gloom, fire and brimstone.
When you keep calling the same play and losing yardage, time to call a different play. Eventually people stopped listening to the boy crying wolf.
Obama slowly reacted to the Deep Water Horizon spill in the Gulf and in fact turned his back on it.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs had said only six days earlier. "It is their responsibility (BP)." The president, Gibbs added, lacked the authority to play anything more than a supervisory role – a curious line of argument from an administration that has reserved the right to assassinate American citizens abroad and has nationalized much of the auto industry. "If BP is not accomplishing the task, can you just federalize it?" a reporter asked. "No," Gibbs replied.http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-spill-the-scandal-and-the-president-20100608

I remember 30,000 scientists saying that we are heading towards a period of global cooling and I am basing my research off the warm and cooling periods earth has seen that we can actually verify.

National Geographic says the coral die off is unprecedented and is most likely due to warming ocean water. The controversy is really if man is influencing the water warming or if it is a natural cycle. It may be a bit of both. If man has a hand in making the problem worse, that can and should be addressed.

I remember a time when scientists discovered that the ozone layer had a big hole in it. After doing some study, they figured out that humans using aerosol spray with chlorofluorocarbons exacerbated the problem. So, we devised ways of applying deodorant, shaving cream, hair spray, cleaning products, disinfectants, etc., without using chlorofluorocarbons as propellants. The ozone layer began to heal. The newer propellants still emit some nasty stuff for the environment, but they don't seem to bother the ozone layer any more. Man damaged the world-wide environment and then reversed it.

We may not be able to completely stop the process of climate change, but if there are things that man is doing that are accelerating the problem, we can certainly make a change, like we did with the ozone layer.

If you read what the people that actually study reefs write, warming comes in last as a threat to corral. Also, new studies have found that corral is much more resilient than previously thought.

    http://healthwyze.org/tidbits/249-al-gore-sued-by-30000-scientists-for-global-warming-fraud

Al Gore was sued by 30,000 scientists for global warming fraud. So much for winning a nobel peace award.

The year of 1816 saw no summer. It was winter in June and July. The little ice age devastated the northern hemisphere from America to Europe. There was a global warming period followed by an ice age. This lasted more than one year. So your argument is wrong. Earth has natural life cycles and we are going through one right now. Humans may have made this cycle hotter than usual but this is nothing new.

It's cute that you climate change people think climate change can be measured in days or weeks. It's like claiming your dogs next litter of puppies is proof of evolution. Hilarious.
