I'm an old guy. I understand and enjoy studying history. You could be entirely correct in your projections. However, you may not. There are many things that come to play here. Mr. Trump could be a Hitler, or an FDR, or somewhere in between. One thing he is not, is a republican. He is a businessman who likes to cut deals. This could also be either good or bad. Even though he has surrounded himself with right wingers, that could possibly change. He also wants to be popular, which explains his hatred for Saturday Night Live.
The super right wing are also not republicans. They are in the republican party simply because they could not survive as a third party.
If Trump changes course, the super right will go in the attack mode, and Trump will crush them. It is again entirely possible for the republican party to split to more moderation. This leaves the super right with no place to go.
Another thing which will be interesting, is if they try to establish a Muslim registry. If that happens, we will see who the real Christians are in this country, and who are the fakes.
That act in itself will show who the real people are who believe in religious freedom.

With its neo-bourgeois population and booming economy, China is much of a bigger market than the US. They're going past the phase when they manufacture cheap goods to go to the one where they actually consume these goods.

The US didn't kill Cuba economically, despite the decades that the embargo lasted. Do you really think it will work with China?

 

Their economy is booming due to their trade with the US and Europe, restrict their access to the US market and their economy will collapse. As far as their "neo-bourgeois" population is concerned, their per capita income is still 1/10th of the US.

This is nice but useless, given that the Chinese are smart enough to buy "made in China", while we are stupid enough to buy "made in China". What do you think is causing this enormous and growing trade deficit? We buy their stuff and they DON'T buy ours.

The goal is to resuscitate the US economy and make is work for all Americans, not just the top 1%, not kill the Chinese one. Yes, this can work.

Not so in fact the opposite, they call int the debt and this country has massive problems if we don't guarantee our debt. You people have no clue about economics and you come in here like experts on everything. Yes and I was one of the people that thought it would be a Democratic win. but that didn't happen but what did happen is the right got enough haters to vote for a hate candidate, then I got the slam dunk finding out that the haters had a electorate vote majority also.So they are proud of themselves for what , well lets look at what , they voted in a hate candidate that is psychopathic and put him next to the little red button that can destroy us all. The best situation for many will be to deal with them at the same level of hate that they operate on. This will work to a point. I would ask the progressives to take this position if you possibly can because the fact is , they are the most dangerous and threatening group against this country and it's values, there is no bigger threat. The haters will love this guys hate driven moves and you can just scratch your head and think it will get better by itself or better as time goes on but I'm telling you it won't and you better buckle up and take a hard position against this enemy of this country. Good comment, I'm old also and do also enjoy studying this great country, it's politics and economics. This country is a Miracle historically and capitalism is the only way but all level of conscience can exist in capitalism to the point that many Right wing economists through the years have said that it should never be judged at all by conscience that capitalism works outside of of right and wrong, and only should be judged by the bottom line. At this time we are controlled by people who believe this way, mostly on the right but also many progressives also. Adam Smith said in 1776 that at times wages aren't controlled by the market but by business setting wages and he perceived this negatively as I do. We are at one of those periods now. That and tax structure have made it so no one other then the golden few have gained anything as far as the increased wealth of this country , which has been massive. All of it has gone to the top for 35 years. This is what the right wants for this country. This is the warning, capitalism will not function without the incentive that has been totally taken away for the last 35 years. Capitalism will not exist without the promise of a brighter future . Income has stayed at the same amount for those 35 years other then the golden few who have gained massive wealth during that period. This won't continue to work. This increased wealth for the few is not earned , deserved or needed. With out a increase in wages in the last 35 years have come with massive increased debt , so every week people have less and less because of debt to pay for food on the table and a roof over their families head. The worst part is the poorer people are the more likely debt will be in the form of credit cards , the absolute worse scenario.
You pointed out a few things about our new president that you hold hope in, I don't agree at all ,first he is mentally unstable and the right parked him next to the little red button that can destroy man kind, which is insanity to the Highest degree. Secondly he is put in a seat that effects more people in the world than any other seat and this man is a cruel evil person who only cares about himself ,not even his own family. Just himself. You're inside out. The minority are in the leadership because they have money. They are what's left of the old Rockefeller Republicans, and the Neocons. The Neocons are ex Scoop Jackson Democrats. Neither is notably conservative. The Rocks used to be deficit hawks but they've largely given up on that and are in it for the power trip. The Neocons are also pretty much a single issue block and that issue is the military. That's pretty much why they left the Democratic party in the first place. They are an increasingly small and increasingly geriatric group both in age and outlook. I shall address your last paragraph first. If one has an area where there are too many ducks, there comes a point in time where things are so ducked up, it is not possible to unduck it. We may have passed that point. America could be in for great times or anarchy. There are many rich power players behind the curtain for both the democrats & republican parties. This has always been problematic, but now, from all I can tell, we have a nationalistic, loose cannon. At least that is a distinct possibility.

Your first paragraph is pretty much spot on. The working poor is increasing, it includes all races, and it is shameful. Like the Pope stated, trickle down is supposed to work like this.....Once the cup is full, any excess flows down to the poorer working class. But, sadly, this is how it works......Once the cup is full, the upper select few gets a bigger cup.
Companies that bring jobs in with a wage less than $15 an hour should not get any federal, state, or municipal tax breaks. They are only creating more working poor. Just my opinion.

I hope he does have a trade war with China, in fact I hope he puts together a plan to stop all trade to China like we had with Cuba, love it. One of the main idea that has to be dumped is the idea that the market controls wages, so where ever they land is the number. Their should be no number acceptable for a full time job that need government support to maintain the profits of any corporation or business in this country by what they are not paying in wages to a level that is needed for a family to live on in a minimal level . I'd like to hear why I have to, as a tax payer, pay what is needed above wages to keep a roof over the heads and food on the table for any generic family and the bottom line of any business. Yawn. China is our distant 4th export market, not the largest as you erroneously proclaimed, amounting to just 7% of our export. Yet China is responsible for 50% of our trade deficit. And we are indeed China's largest import partner. In simple terms so that even you could understand - they flood our market with their junk and yet they don't buy anything from us. China is already waging a trade war, it's just that we are not fighting back, losing badly and have precious little left to lose. But don't fret, China stands to lose their largest export market for good. When they realize Trump means business, they'll play ball. You'll apologize to him and to us then, ok?
