Oddly enough, California protects murderers and prevents the death penalty. A life of incarceration and expense (who would have guessed, lol) to the citizens of that state. A somewhat little known fact, Charles Manson was a racist and encouraged black militants to overthrow white government. Why? He thought so little of their critical thinking skills that he would emerge as their leader during their ensuing lost chaos. Snowflakes...........no wonder they fear global warming.
Yes. Life in prison, where only the black murderers are kept. For the next 50-60 yrs. Then when he's near 80, put out in the streets of the most norther Minnesota street where white snow stays most of the year.
I sometimes agree. But sometimes, that is just too much of an easy way out. And I think in this case, it's exactly what he wants. Let him rot, alive.
Prison is its own society. People adapt and learn how to live. They make friends, they get to laugh, they get to create a new life within the system. While I'm not advocating rape or violence as some posters are, I have no problem with the death penalty. Especially when so many lives were lost. Make it quick and give justice and closure to the families.
I cheered. Then said, "one member of each of his victims' families should be given a gun and one shot. But the kill shot has to be last." Suck it up...I really feel that way.
Oh baloney ..I never encouraged rape ...what the heck are you going on about...rape in prison happens ...did you really think they need my encouragement ? The guy you're so worried about slaughtered innocent people who welcomed him to their church...he slaughtered them in cold blood, and did not care, showed no remorse.......pretty disturbing to not care about what he did......
I would too. I'm just trying to figure out if he will be on South Carolina death row or Federal death row.
Like I said: I don't see myself as evil, nor do I see myself as a scumbag. So therefore it doesn't apply to me. You might call that hypocrisy, but it's only hypocrisy if I saw myself as evil. ISIS targets the innocent and attempts to terrorize them. I would give the apt punishment required to those who have actually become like ISIS. The difference is stark and clear as day. Retribution has existed as long as humanity, and the concept exists to deter further aggression.
Mixed feelings on this one. On principle, I find capital punishment abhorrent and having no place in the 21st century. But this guy's crimes were so obnoxious, it's hard to defend his continued use of oxygen.
There should be no attempt to appeal in clear cut cases and I'm so tired of these kinds of criminals getting protection. We are too nice.

he should have been rehabilitated at the expense of the taxpayer to pay for therapists to teach him how to spread love to the world instead of assassinated by the state. death penalty = bad.

Murder is murder, he got the penalty all cold blooded murders should get. What's the difference between an obnoxious murder/crime and a murder/crime that's not obnoxious?
The man had his day in court. And he received his sentence. Aside from that, the dialogue in this thread is poor. And, really, a reflection of this forum as a whole from an observer's perspective in my short time here. Dysfunctional.
Snake is a partisan hack. If we were all in here saying he should be kept alive like all the black murderers that murdered white people, he'd be telling us this guy deserves to die and be raped along the way. He just didn't have time to read the entire thread and see that both left AND right are in agreeance with how this guy should be handled.
