Gee, I wonder why that amount has not been disclosed.

Channeling another infamous legislator from California, it looks like they're trying to pass this bill before taxpayers find out what's in it.

Good. Cut off all federal funding and let them stew in it.

    Immigration is a federal issue.

Except when it comes to election laws, gun laws, marriage law, things like that.

I say cut the state in half and let southern California join Mexico.

Its nothing but a festering cesspool.

We cant allow these radical liberals to put American security at risk and we damned sure as hell shouldn't be paying for it.

Its time to seize all federal assets in California including land.

Maybe you don't understand what "sanctuary cities" have been doing. They agree with you: immigration is a federal issue, and cities (and states) have the authority to direct their resources to enforce local laws. They're position is that they don't have the resources to apprehend and hold immigrants when it's the federal government who let them cross the border in the first place.

Those are already administered at the state level, what are you getting at?

Isn't it the federal government that let these immigrants in in the first place? California (or whatever state) didn't grant them visas.

My city is starting to go sanctuary in protest to Trump. I am not sure what to do. I would protest but I am a political minority and am afraid of what might happen with my friends, job, or even just out in public. I will get painted as an evil racist and many violent actions might be validated on that basis.

On the other side is that I pay significant amounts of tax including property tax and I am glad to pay more to my community and the future of my family. But having to give that money that I worked hard for to people outside who trespass and take advantage of our good will is a hard pill to swallow. The idea that it goes to them at the cost of my future children and community just makes me choke.

Those peoples' understandings of American history extend no further than maybe the 1960's.

    Those that can't, apparently teach.

    Fed dominion over immigration.

No I understand, local officials are choosing to side with criminals over law abiding citizens.

Let 'em have all the sanctuaries they want.

But their 'states rights' will have no grip on the removal of federal grant money.

And with CA already the highest taxed state in the union, guess it won't hurt to raise taxes more to help fund with all the illegal immigrants.

I'm sure hardworking, taxpaying, Californians don't mind one bit.

Civil war is as lame as the people screaming for it. A session wouldn't work because most of the state is red.

You can't use a driver's license to cross an international border.

No, they're arresting criminals who are in violation of state and local laws. They don't have the manpower to chase down all the immigrants the federal government let in.

    No, it's not.

California is going out of its way to block federal law from being enforced.

    Very different things.

My advice, don't protest or draw attention to yourself.

Let them rage all they want, people are waking up to what is going on because of it.

We have a government that is now working hard to turn these things around, support them in other ways.

Walking around with a sign and a vagina hat is the realm of the idiot.

In this case the state is wrong------it is sacrificing American taxpayers for illegals. Without federal funding, they will go down the tubes. They are already in debt. Do they really expect Americans who are working there to shoulder the tax burden? Those Hollywood stars will be gone. They talk a big game, but are not willing to suffer for it. California needs mental help....

I remember when Governor Pete Wilson signed a law taking welfare from illegal aliens. That was the last act of a Californian to save the state from being overrun. Of course, the law didn't survive and in they came. We may as well give it back to Mexico.
