Note that over the last more than a decade the US has had US combat troops at war along the majority of Iran's borders. Plus, we overthrew the Iranian government, and subsequently supported Iraq in its war against Iraq - including WMDs - under Rumsfeld's direction. Under Bush41, we went to war against Iraq in Kuwait, marching along Iran's border. In fact, there were US missiles that hit Iran, because our ability to hit targets at that time was far worse than it is today.

During the conquest of Iraq under Bush43, Iran made overtures to discuss regional security, noting that we were conducting war on both sides of Iran - the majority of its land borders. Bush told them to pound sand!

The idea that Iran believes they need nuclear deterrence is firmly rooted in modern history well remembered by Iranians.

 

There are people here who do not know that Pres Bush Jr, had our intel to determine if iran had a nuke weapons program going. The conclusion was that iran stopped their program around 01 or 02, can't recall the exact year. What iran did want was the ability to make their own fuel for their one reactor as to be independent from having to buy it. They want more reactors for power, and they want the ability to enrich their own fuel. Not be dependent on another nation for power. Which is reasonable.

With the inspections and our spooks in full operation, we know they still are closed on their weapons program. Iran wasn't working on one anyways when the 10 year agreement was signed. They got some of their money back we stole in the process. .

The question is, can iran be trusted? No, but we can act like we trust them as we verify. An Islamic state cannot be trusted with nukes for they think they answer to a higher power, which makes it unacceptable. So, if iran wants to be literally blown back to the stone age, let them resurrect their weapons program. The goal would not be to conquer them, just to remove their infrastructure, requiring decades to rebuild. That at some point in time will have to be conveyed to them, in plain terms. And give them the choice. For one thing is certain. We will never allow a theocracy to have nukes for this is the one form of gov't which is dangerous, given their rewards lies beyond their own deaths. This is the nation whose kids took out mine fields set by Iraq by walking on them. Suicide cult religions cannot have nukes.

 

You're forgetting the fact that Iran already is radicalized, has been radicalized, and has been an official state sponsor of terrorism.

We're going to have to war with Iran don't you see that?

It was predicted the moment news broke about Obama and his secret deals to support the Iranian nuclear weapons program by pretending they didn't have one.

And this war will make Iraq/Afgan look like a playground scuffle.

Iran is not using those centrifuges to produce reactor grade Uranium.

They cannot use this process efficiently or even close to cost effective to do that nor can they develop anywhere near the amount of reactor grade uranium needed using this process.

They are making weapons grade Uranium!!!

THIS is the reality........the United States will NOT allow Israel to bomb active Iranian Nuclear Facilities.

If that happened the resulting radioactive dust cloud would poison the entire region!!!

And as the United States will NOT under any circumstances allow any nation that signed the NPT in order to purchase Nuclear Technology when that nation did not have the capability to develop such tech on their own.....the U.S. will NOT allow Iran a signer of the NPT to develop Nuclear Weapons as if this was to happen......if Iran publicly stated it had developed nukes.......then in that case the United States Military would invade Iran and seize all existing Iranian Nuclear Facilities.

It is that simple!!

Israel would want to bomb those facilities and as the U.S. will not allow that the United States would invade Iran.
