Mem Fox is an author, highly literate, communication is her strong suit, so perhaps she was too literate for the Border patrol officers, this lady uses proper english when she communicates, if you tried to high five her she'd probably stare at you blankly (lol just kidding).

I agree Australians speak very fast, but she travelled to the US 116 times before and now she's a potential threat? She did mention they accused her of having the wrong visa, however turns out her visa was correct, thus she received the apology later on.

I believe they treat thousands of innocent people in this manner, and it's worse now under Trump because they have a mandate. I also believe they will pay for this behaviour in tourist dollars disappearing

    Yeap,
the world survived Hitler, despite millions of casualties, lets keep fingers crossed there are less casualties on the path of D.Trump.
It appears, that even in moderate times people listen to this irresistible voice, which promises more and more and more and better and better and better and and and....
    Regards

I, too, hope we survive Donald Trump and his cultists. The followers of Rev. Sun Myung Moon were more open minded...and less entranced.

    I think we will.

But all bets are off if these people start wearing distinctive uniforms...or develop a stylized salute.

Fox is also, mostly, a completely non-Jewish surname. Google a picture of Mem Fox - if she is Jewish she is from the 'white as a bedsheet & red haired' tribe. She wasn't pulled aside because she 'looked suspicious'. She also wasn't the only white person in the room.

Read her account of what happened in that room. The behaviour of the TSA officers was appalling. They were standing over people and abusing them simply because they could. They could have conducted those interviews in an entirely different fashion. I don't know if this sort of behaviour has been going on for a while or if they are suddenly feeling empowered by the new Administration, but it is no way to treat people whose worst crime is most likely stuffing up their visa. In this case she hadn't even done that.

Fox is her husband's surname and her real surname was Patridge. Her family is originally from Southern Rhodesia. Probably she should have talked to the TSA officer while standing there along with other passengers but she asked for privacy, which was why she was taken to the interrogation room. It took only 15 minutes of questioning to clarify her immigration status. In my case, it took only a minute or less.

She was questioned for two hours, I think the 15 min you are referring to may have been one of her previous trips, she did receive an apology thus an acknowledgement from the US that they were in the wrong.

I just did a bit of reading on the surname Fox. English/Irish origin. The name first appeared in 13th century England. Fox is her married name by the way. Born Merrion Frances Partridge. Partridge is also of English origin.

Mem Fox was born in Melbourne. Her parents were missionaries who moved to Rhodesia when Mem was a child. . She relocated to England at the age of 18 to continue her studies.

Please don't make excuses for the TSA's abhorrent behaviour.

So you think it makes sense to import foreign terrorists to augment the home grown ones then? I think Australia is going to be the next 'Sweden'!

Actually there are more people on this site and others who are doing their best to increase the number of home grown ones, that is a much bigger problem in my honest opinion

You see terrorism is about spreading terror, if they do not create terror then they have failed. So what do the likes of "the kid" and jehadwatch.org do? They spread the terror for them, they spread their lies, they jusify what they do in their (the terrorist's) eyes. They (the terrorsists) want them to villify Islam, it helps them convert young people who are usually looking for something to rebel against anyhow. The terrorists pass the ball and the islamophobics run with it to score for the terrorists. IMHO JihadWatch and people like "the kid" are the promotional division of ISIS

I have been accused numerous times for supporting Islam, nothing could be further from the truth. What I have been defending is the truth, we lose that, we lose everything.

We survived Obama and his cultists. We'll survive Trump and his cultists, and then it'll be some left-wing cultist's turn, again.

Home grown or foreign, they're traitors, and we all know what traditionally has happened to traitors in wartime? Unless the west gets to grip with that concept then the jihadists will always be one step ahead.

Great post that hits at the heart of this issue. Why are we constantly talking about it. It's like free advertisement but some people just don't get it! Stop living in bloody fear I say and be positive. Never seen so much negativity in all my life like this Muslim hysteria.....wait up! Well maybe not since the Reds under the bed hysteria!

Maybe we should just ask the global jihadists to call the whole thing off? I don't know why nobody has thought of it before. [IMG]

They've declared war on us ffs. You don't think they're going to stop now, do you?

Yes we will Margot, just as we have before. And I think we'll come out stronger. Trump's bringing home to all people of good will how far we've slipped, how many we've left behind and how much work we have to do. He's kicked the complacency out of us.

    m2catter said:

"...Just thinking of what you said,
imagine an American mother reading a book to her daughter about the 45 President of the United States, who therein claims he can grab every women by the puzzy.....

Boy we had it low with Abbott, but that low?"

    And your response was:

" I confidently assert you are either Swedish or Australian, and definitely female."

    So I said:

"Your mates must adore the liberties you allow them with your wife and daughters, mate."

Because you made it pretty plain you have no problem with men grabbing women's genitals uninvited, didn't you? Only Swedish or Australian women find such conduct objectionable, according to you, so I'm guessing your wife and daughters must be up for it . Your mates must think it's Christmas every damn day. Or did you perhaps not think it through before you posted " I confidently assert you are either Swedish or Australian, and definitely female" ?

Jesus wept, let's get it into some kind of adult perspective can we, Even if it's true (which I seriously doubt), it isn't as if he raped them. And who's to say they didn't ask for it?
