    Prove what?

That American conservatives and racists were solidly in the Democratic Party until LBJ got the Civil Rights legislation of the 1960's enacted...and who then abandoned the Democratic Party and became solidly Republican?

That you want me to prove?

    C'mon.

So as little as one generation ago they called themselves liberal Democrats. That's all.

Continue to reside in la la land.

You are so far from reality on this issue...it makes no sense trying to penetrate.

But...I'll be here for ya nonetheless.

Hillary almost became your President. Thanks to the mentorship of her hero, the liberal Democrat and KKK Grand Banana, Robert Byrd.

How (George) Romney Championed Civil Rights and Challenged His Church

In 1963, George Romney was able to forge a bond with Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King that seems virtually inconceivable across today's political divide. The year was a pivotal one for both men. In between launching his spring campaign in Birmingham and delivering his "I Have a Dream" speech in Washington at the end of August, King led a march in Detroit in June.

Romney had just become Governor of Michigan and declared the occasion "Freedom Day in Michigan." He sent an emissary to join the crowd of about 120,000 (had the march not been on a Sunday, he likely would have been there himself). The following year, in his State of the State address, the governor said that "Michigan's most urgent human rights problem is racial discrimination--in housing, public accommodations, education, administration of justice, and employment."

Romney was one of a number of moderate and liberal Republicans who strongly supported the Civil Rights Bill of 1964 and, at the Republican Party convention, worked on behalf of efforts to include an anti-discrimination plank in the party platform.

We'd be a LOT better off if Hillary Clinton had won that last election...but she didn't and we are stuck with Donald Trump.

She did have Robert Byrd as a mentor.

If you think that is significant...go for it. I think the fact that she has fought for the underdog most of her poltical life is more significant.

I also think the Republic will survive this period of American conservative dominance.

    It won't be easy, though.

I think it counters your theory about conservative racists being in the Republican Party.

    I don't see how.

Hillary Clinton had a mentor who was a racist.

If you want to take that to mean the Democratic Party is racist...and the Republican Party is not...fine with me. I enjoy a laugh more than most people.

He was a racist. He was Hillary Clinton's mentor. He was in the KKK. He was a leading Democrat.

It's only funny to some people.

Today's Republicans are a FAR cry from the Republicans of Lincoln's time, the fiscal conservative, social liberal Republicans that they were, all of them rolling over in their grave at the inhumane, draconian band of goons their party has become.

What is funny is you thinking that points to the Dems being the racist party and the Republican not.

Go to a KKK meeting...and ask how many are Democrats.

Go to a White Supremacist meeting...and ask how many are Democrats.

Or ask at each how many are Republicans.

That will answer your self-induced bewilderment.

Do you need more examples or something? The BLM and the NAACP...the Congressional Black Caucus are all Democrat-based race organizations. Democrats have always been racists.

    From your source:

President Johnson had the opportunity to complete the job which was started by Roosevelt and interrupted by the war. Our very survival as a nation depended on the success of several rather radical reforms. The key to progress was still to be found in the states which President Johnson lost to Goldwater. Until the Southern power block was broken and the committees of our Congress freed from the domination of racists and reactionaries within the Democratic Party, we could not expect the kind of imagination and creativity which this period in history demanded from our federal government.

The problems of poverty, urban life, unemployment, education, housing, medical care, and flexible foreign policy were dependent on positive and forthright action from the federal government. But so long as men like Senators Eastland, Russell, Byrd, and Ellender held the positions of power in our Congress, the entire progress of our nation was in as grave a danger

    Democrats.... tsk tsk tsk.....

No evasion...you are just being absurd right now.

Get some rest. Then we can talk.
