Fun Food can be thought of like Fun Chicks.
Say's Me.It's okey dokey and normal to consume the occasional Fun Foods.
But ya shore nuff don't wanna Marry a Fun Chick.
Trust me.Hollywood made enough movies about this.
Of course most are comedies.But you get the drift.

 

Alright people of the Strange Brews. Its Coffee Time.

 

Time for a genre change up.

 

I once got stranded after a night of Partying at Kent State Univ.
Me and a couple buddies decided to go to Kent State for a
wild weekend.I lived a little over an hour away and went there
every so often.A few friends attended Kent State and Joe Walsh
was a favorite on campus.
But this one night,after the bar scene this guy at a bar,told us
he had plenty of good grass,back at his room,on campus.
So me and Klondike { my buddy's nickname } decided to go
to this guys room and get stoned.Man was that Pot strong.Plus the
guy insisted we take a huge Pill { Vitamin C supplement }.
Well,we shore got stoned and also lucy goosey.So much so we
had a hard time finding our way around campus and the bars were
all closed.We were very thirsty { cotton mouth } and there was this
All Biker bar that was closed but the doors were open as they were
cleaning up. We got us a couple glasses of water.
Decided to head home on foot.Kent State is off a couple highway roads,
We took the one most travelled.We were both totally pooped.
We stopped at an elementary school and tried to rest on their
sidewalk.Then moved on and found a barn.It would be a little
warmer.But we kept thinking about spiders & snakes,after finding
some straw to bed down on.
I remember Kent State had this bar that was like a Jethro Tull
album.Everything had this old Minstral and stout feel { ambience }.

 

Tough love make them think before they eat and realize the junk food they are buying can be exchanged for healthy food. A bag of beans costs less than a Micky D meal and is a lot healthier. Yep, it's a hard decision but a good one. Water instead of soda, vegetable and fruit instead of corn chips and a candy bar.

 

All about choices in life. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't.

 

I like to cook and to try different things. If you do your own cooking you can tailor food to your own distinct taste. Right now its pickles and salsa. I had a deli pickle with a sandwich once. I have been trying to get that perfect crisp pickle ever since. I got the crisp down and I can make a good pickle....I think I need a touch more garlic.

I don't really have a recipe. The brine is one cup distilled water, one cup vinegar, one tablespoon of salt. I use one teaspoon of pickling spice, a teaspoon of garlic a quarter teaspoon of mustard seed and a quarter teaspoon of celery seed. And a sprig or two of fresh dill.This will make a quart or so of pickles. They are refrigerator pickles so I heat nothing. I put the spices in the bottom of the quart jars and then stuff the spears in. Then cover with brine and place in fridge. Ready in a couple of days. I have also canned some dill slices using the same recipe with a quarter teaspoon of calcium chloride. The brine was brought to a boil, spices and dill placed in jar, pickles added, then boiling brine. And boiling water packed. I don't know how these will come out....they don't look bad.

 

Well.....next Saturday morning, will be the last day in this house that has been my home for the last 17 and half years. The ending nears. The furniture I am moving out Wednesday night. TV and Puter Friday. Then I go to work that night and Saturday morning I will grab the cats and their stuff and the next stage of my life begins.

I hate leaving this area I know so well. Now I am all caught up......Holding back the Years.
