Why does the Left hate Trump so much? Yes, they are "afraid," but of what? If nothing else, his love for his business empire and his children makes war ridiculously unlikely.

Here is a typical elaboration by a New York playwright working on a Trump play now. I can't wait to see it. Or maybe I can:

“The nightmare is in high gear. It certainly feels like folly that I or anyone else has a definitive understanding or comprehensive understanding of what going on. I have my guesses [indeed] like everyone else has, but it will take some time and a lot will depend on how it is resolved.”

Kushner says he will try to write Trump as a direct character, rather than anything oblique or symbolic. “He’s the kind of person, as a writer, I tend to avoid as I think he is borderline psychotic,” [nothing like opinion] Kushner says. “I definitely think that incoherence lends itself well to drama, but he really is very boring. It’s terrifying [there it is] because he has all the power, but without the mental faculties he ought to have. I think he is seriously mentally ill, and the fact that he is in the White House is very frightening.

This is a man, mind you, and he's both "terrified" and "frightened." Sort of nauseating, right?

My suspicion is that Trump haters have spent little time around serious businessmen, and so the businessman's directness, vulgarity, salesmanship, puffing, toughness, crassness, materialism, is unfamiliar to them. They are at home at a concert, a diversity workshop, a march, a protest, a classroom, or a wine-tasting, but put them face-to-face with the hardness of a businessman trying to keep people employed and they feel threatened. It's sad, because the businessman doesn't threaten anyone except for maybe his competitors. He really wants nothing more than improvements to commerce, the exchange of goods and services, so that he'll get rich and everyone will have a job and money to spend. I like businessmen.

According to some on the left, President Trump can do absolutely nothing right. So you see the heads exploding, constant whining, the running to safe spaces and puppy videos. It's sad. Partisanship running rampant.

How presumptuous to assume that envy is the culprit.

They need to do something (anything) to counteract the rampant Stockholm Syndrome among Trump's pathologically delusional apologists.

I do not speak for the left nor am I a member, but as an independent I dislike Trump because too often he relies upon anecdotal evidence over fact, hyperbole over concision and ad hominem attacks over civility.

Those are valid objections. But what's the big story in the mainstream media today? Trump talked to Putin during a dinner at the G20 meeting. The nerve of our President, speaking to the man who stole the election from Hillary Clinton. Uh, yeah, how dare President Trump talk to another world leader at a meeting designed to get leaders together to discuss things. I mean lordy, do these reporters bother to listen to themselves?

As a native New Yorker who has been aware for years of his horrifically nefarious past, watched in absolute horror as the rubes got duped into buying what this grifter was selling.

    Thank you.

I cannot objectively explain the above as the focus upon every perceived negative of Trump is seemingly frantic in nature. I assume that many in the news media have lost their objectivity or never had it in the first place. News needs to get back to being objective as this biased BS just hurts us as a people and a country. Perhaps the advent of the internet has something to do with the current news cycles, but again I am just speculating as I do not fully understand the cause behind it all.

Ya, I do not get what all the fuss is about, and I am an ardent opponent of Trump! Too many people pole vaulting over mouse turds IMO.

A bit off topic, but I appreciate your use of limiting language in you claim against the left. It is refreshing to see an example of objectivity amidst all the stereotypes that are commonplace here on the forums. Thanks!

Trump lied, denying several times that he met with Putin. Then we found out he had met with Putin.
His campaign people and those he has gathered around him have met secretly with Putin and Russian agents and denied it. They tried to hide it, then they denied it.

Doesn't this mean anything to you Trumpsters? Do you have any idea what they talked about with Russians? And why did one of those Russians launder something like $3.8 billion? Doesn't any of this bother you? You used to claim highest patriotism for yourselves. What happened? All this is going on and you don't care?

That right there... the man cannot and should not be trusted. It's CLEAR to decent and reasonable Americans.

How do you FAVOR someone with the character of the current President?!

There's definitely things to not like but they don't add up to the mass hysteria. This latest nonsense about the extra meeting with Putin is a great example of the disconnect with reality. A room full of people, cameras, and the media and they still have a false narrative.

I am not a member of the right but based upon my inquiry, many conservatives look past his flawed character in favor of his business accomplishments which many hope that Trump can use to make America great again. Personally I think America is great and flawed and we will always be this way as great and flawed are subjective measurements in politics.

I think the other issue in terms of the subjectivity of character is that in a choice between Trump and Clinton, Trump is perceived by many as having the stronger character, and while I do not support Trump I can hardly blame them as Clinton is a woman with a flawed character. Being stuck with a choice between Clinton and Trump to me was like being asked if I prefer to be shot or stabbed. I know that our country is able to produce better candidates than Clinton and Trump and the fact that they bubbled to the top shows just how flawed our election system is.

One last thing, I think many on the right saw Clinton as old guard and wanted a mover and a shaker, in this case that being Trump.

My that is so constructive. I may be wrong but I think you win the butt hurt lib of the day award. Tell us in a few words why you think the crooked serial liar Hillary should have won. Include a paragraph on all the people that got dead around the Clintons that were going to cross them.

    Just interested to know.

What do you say to those, like me, who find both, Clinton & Trump, to be detestable triple-flush turds?

Laughable! We had hundreds of hate filled anti-Obama threads on this forum - one clown even having a photo of him as the victim of a target and assassination. In all that time the right wing trolls said that was perfectly ok. Now they find any objection to Trump as some form of evil.

Laughable and pathetic double standards, as usual.

Lest anyone forget, we have had more hate filled anti-Hillary threads on this right wing forum than anti-Trump threads.

Naturally, the right wingers don't seem to realize their double standards.

In this pathetically right wing politically correct forum, we've seen thousands more examples of hate for Obama, for Hillary, and for Bill Clinton. But again, the right wing trolls conveniently pretend that they have posted more hatred than anyone else.

They have very little going on in the consciousness department so the double standard they live by does not even compute.
