The stupid error was on you. You said nobody on the right is defending the klan. That was a profoundly stupid statement. And now like the typical conservative you are trying to blame someone else for your own stupidity.

What you were responding to does not change the meaning of what you said. "No one on the right is defending the klan" was a logical response taken at its literal meaning, despite the fact that it is a stupid statement. If no one on the right is defending the klan, then the other poster's claim that right-wingers and conservatives on this forum are defending the klan would be wrong. This is exactly what you were saying. It was profoundly stupid and you should be ashamed. You clearly are as evident by this elaborate walk back.

This picture has been floating around since last week, the guy in question is wearing a hat with the 82nd Airborne Division logo on it. That's the same division that was around since 1917 and participated in the D-Day invasion in World War 2, the same World War where the Nazis were the primary enemy. And the asshle in the picture is saluting the very people the U.S. was out to defeat.

This is a new level of insulting to people who actually fought the Nazis and I assume that hat belonged to his father or grandfather, given he looks relatively young.

These hats weren't around during WWII. We should also see the original photo and caption to be sure these people were actually doing the Nazi salute in support of Nazis. "Floating around the internet" offers little evidence or proof.

There was a similar photo 'floating around' at one time which said that Trump supporters were also doing the Nazi salute. Of course it was something else quite different, and innocent.

 

The hats might not have been around but the patch sure was, and I did a Google image check. It's quite real.
