You could hear it. No doubt they were either full auto or the only other way is with a mechanical device that you hand crank to pull the trigger. Too even and fast for single fire.

From the limited audio sound I heard over FOX App on the computer at work it did not sound as if he was firing in full auto.

It has been an eternity since I fired the .30 cal machine gun or the M-60 machine gun, but I believe both fire at a higher rate of fire than what I heard this guy fire at. Maybe he had a device to fire it faster as Hoosier suggests. I was guessing the rate of fire at maybe 400 rounds per minute or a tad slower. I fired machine guns that fired at around 750 rounds per minute.

I found a video of the M-60 firing so you can tell for yourself the difference.

There is a vast difference in his weapon vs the Military weapons.

    Listen closely.

Frequent human slaughter occurs through automobile accidents; the vast majority of those accidents involve speeding. Yet every time I drive the speed limit (always), I witness at least 80% of my fellow citizens speeding. Forgive me if I feel that most people don't give two craps about human slaughter if it the prevention of it would inconvenience them in any way. And infringing a constitutional right is much more than mere inconvenience.

And when one doesn't take their meds?
IMO, the school shootings may have been the result of drugs. ADHD type. And then the shooters stopped taking them and became unstable.

Mental health check - no. (Too arbitrary.)

But otw, I have no problem with it.

TOG feels it's unconstitutional, but the courts are not in agreement. (I do think he makes a good basic argument against it, however.)

As someone who has gone to Pendleton with both my marine father and Army friend (tank battalion leader badarse!) and that sounded like automatic fire to me.

In fact, it sounded like he was firing two weapons at once for a bit there.

I think SCOTUS declined to involve itself and the appellate courts sided with the states; I really don't have a problem with this, though TOG's objection is sound.

Dude that is an entirely different gun, with a different caliber bullet, of course it will sound different.

Sounds like fully auto to me, I am not in the military so maybe someone has more experience, but as a comparison of the weapon most are assuming he had with him (NOT AN M60)

    AR-15 - fully auto

Alot of times, people want to get to A to B as quick as they can. It's not for nefarious intent or purpose that accidents happen. Of course, if everyone followed the rules perfectly there'd never be an accident but we don't live in a perfect world. I do think that in some instances, adding more lanes helps with the congestion problem, gets people to where they want to be quicker and less accidents.

They're saying he somehow rigged the guns to be fully automatic.

Never mind that it violates due process. To take away a right, the state has to take you to court.
If the a woman had to pay a fee and get a license form the state before she could have an abortion, you;d not be able to hear yourself think over the screams from the left. In fact, you'd hear them on the moon.
Why? For the same reason it is unconstitutional to apply such a thing to the right to arms.

Your thinking and mine are very similar. I'm wondering how in the HELL he could have made all these preparations, undetected, all by himself!

If you've ever been to a classy hotel/casino like the Mandalay Bay, you're familiar with how attentive and almost overpowering the doormen, the porters, and the bellhops are. Of course, they're hoping for nice, fat tips, and they practically smother you with attention! Carry your own bags? Into, or throughout a first-class place like Mandalay Bay? Absolutely NOT.

If I were the FBI Director (which I'm sure as hell not), I'd be having my people pore through the background of every employee at the Mandalay Bay, from top to bottom, right down to the "molecular level". I'd want to know who had been there, from where, for how long, for what specific employment, with what site-wide accesses, AND, whether or not any of them personally knew Stephen Paddock, and if so, through what connections and in what context.

As for Paddock himself? I would dig through every single thing in his life with a MICROSCOPE. And the same would go for his woman-friend (or whatever), Marilou Danley. She's already been declared NOT to be a "person of interest" any longer, but I wouldn't take my eyes off her or anyone she's associated with in this country and overseas. Interesting how before the sun had set on the first full day after the shootings, she's already off the "person of interest" list. :omg:

Something stinks... we just don't know what it is yet. I hope the FBI is a hell of a lot better at "investigations" now than it obviously was when Comey was running it or we may never know the truth.... It keeps hitting me, over and over, that this Stephen Paddock is the LAST kind of person in the world that I can imagine who would do anything like this. Was he being kept in "storage" for a long time, like some kind of American "Manchurian Candidate", and then unleashed now for some unknown reason...? All in all, this whole damn thing doesn't make any sense to me at all....

Question: voting is a right yet many want voters to register and provide IDs, but when it comes to guns, that is unconstitutional? Honest question as I want to understand.

Guns and freeways and not a word about the dead people or their families or survivors...(.that is GUESSES about guns), as if it mattered to the dead and wounded....

same old trite too-oft-repeated boring argument on guns.....Why not just have an "argue back and forth endlessly" thread on guns???

    Jesus Christ man. Stop.

I did not simply say homicides dropped in Connecticut and thus, the law passed before it must have been the cause. I published a peer reviewed study that explicitly studied the effect of that law on the drop in gun homicides in Connecticut. It is the EXACT SAME ****ING TYPE OF EVIDENCE AND REASONING that was used when I mentioned the effect of Roe v. Wade on the decrease of violent crime in the 1990s. The same evidence that you perfectly accepted and did not dismiss as post hoc evidence.

    Now go troll elsewhere.

Voting is given to the states to regulate. Owning guns is not. Constitution and all that stuff.

He wants to ban any gun that can fire more than 10 rounds a minute.
    This covers every modern firearm.

I stayed at Caesars and Paris last year, and many casinos in the east this year, and carried my bags in all places. It's easy to tell the bellmen "thanks but I'm okay" in any casino.

They are digging through his life with a microscope. They're in his house and have removed hundreds of items so far. They will scour his computer records.

The female (Danley) was declared not a person of interest because she isn't in the country right now. She is on her way back to talk to investigators.
