There must a lot of failed politicians in Washington with his poll ratings so low.
Bullshit. He is a public figure, a political figure, and the most public figure in this country and I would love for you to point out the time in America, when Presidents were not described in blunt terms by their flaws by either their political opponents, the press or the public . Maybe you should take another look at how John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Quincy Adams were discussed. Or how Lincoln, Andrew Johnson or either Roosevelt is discussed. There is no change in how Americans discuss or treat their presidents. You have taken political correctness to new heights in order to protect the figure who most disdains political correctness. So how do you feel about the name-calling your president engaging in? He got into office through the most corrosive and nasty tactics I have ever seen and people rewarded it all through the primaries.

    1. Donald Trump took aim at Ted Cruz on "Fox News Sunday" on Dec. 13, 2016, calling the Texas senator a "maniac" who doesn't have the "right temperament" to be president.

2.Donald Trump compared Ben Carson's "pathological temper" to child molestation in a Nov. 12 2016 interview on CNN.

Trump told CNN's Erin Burnett that Carson's 1990 autobiography, "Gifted Hands," says that Carson has a "pathological temper." He then said that people who have pathological tempers are incurable, like people who molest children. "You don't cure these people," he said. "You don't cure a child molester. There's no cure for it. Pathological, there's no cure for that."

"Look at that face!" Donald Trump once said of Carly Fiorina, according to a September Rolling Stone profile. "Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!"

Do you want his quotes on President Obama to see his deference for the office or what President Trump has said since he go in? Instead of describing my character when I am not president , how about you describe his as president based on his statements characterizing his opposition.

Because these aren't opinions. We aren't talking about 'personal truth' or 'alternative facts' just reality.

    We should be so lucky!

America is 'we the people' and we will be just fine in the long run. No President has the power to on his own destroy the country, I think this will just be a good lesson for the political tier going forward.

It will be interesting to see if the lesson is learned quickly enough to supplant Trump in 2020 or if it will not be until 2024.

If the Democratic party continues to use the same negative and divisive rhetoric as they are now, I truly think Trump will win again.

If they take the Macron road and go with a young guy/gal that stays away from the nonsense of people like the OP, Trump doesn't stand a chance.

Should be good TV at least!

The week before nine players out of nearly 1700 knelt during the anthem. Few paid attention. They were there for the game.

Trump opens his big mouth on a Friday.

The following Sunday 204 players took a knee. Some teams were no-shows during the anthem. Protests broke out in the parking lots, some violent.

Tell me how this is revisionist history. Tell me how the left was to blame for the chaos that Sunday. Try to explain why Trump wasn't to blame for the chaos he created that Sunday.

Do you live in an alternate universe?

I 100% agree with you other than hillary being worse than trump. I would loathe to take a knee too, but i would do it before shirking my duty to my country. And that should absolutely offend anyone more. Never mind the grievous insults to the military. This isn't about one or the other being ok, this is about both being terrible, but one being much much worse.

May I ask your level of education?

Do you truly not understand how others may have different opinions than what we are saying?

You do have to go back and remember that this isn't in comparison the average person, it is in comparison to Hillary Clinton

I agree that the protests seem to be more about Trump than the issues that were originally proposed by Kaep (sp?)

Yeah they polled NFL fans that weren't political. Just fans of the game. They don't care that the players have tissue issues. Deal with that on their own time and own dime.

    I disagee

Hillary as a washington professional never did anything right in her life

She is very corrupt and downright stupid the way she handled her emails, her duties and Sec of State - where decisions were for sale to the russians - and the attack on our consulate in libya

And she is a wipe-every-nose liberal who wants open borders and all the other liberal democrat policies

So there are plenty of reasons not ot prefer her

I'm not hyper partisan. I'm arguing that hitler was bad for germany, and everyone is giving me "well that's just your opinion." No, obviously he wasn't. Then everyone is saying hindenburg would have been worse. How much credence are you supposed to give that?

Odd thing is, most posters here are retired. And they are some of thd hyper partisans. How they can't see the 2 sides of same coin crap we get from the national politicians is mind boggling.

If per some chance there is real tax reform, i will chqnge my mind. But imo, that is just another political hot point meant for finger pointing purposes only.

Taxes could be made super simple to do but that would put tax people out of jobs and lessen government power over sections of the economy.

Look, I can keep one upping you with trump. In the end, if only to preserve her legacy and career or on account of overwhelmingly more competence than trump, she would have been better for the country even if she did things I didn't agree with. Trump never did anything right in his life either, and for the most part was far more disastrous.

Between the two of us you seem to be the most emotional and driven by emotion

Such as throwing the vietnam war draft in my face after the national turmoil we went through with bill clinton

That is kinda how I am about it, I am in a VERY strange situation compared to the rest of the NFL though so it's a bit different. However the political aspect of it is definitely affecting me.

I am a huge Chargers fan, but with all the crap about Spanos and the move to LA, coupled with their coaching/playing so far this year, I am simply too disgusted to give the Chargers my time and money for their ratings or ticket sales.

But, I LOVE football! I am always in multiple fantasy leagues and one of them has been going with the same 11 other guys since I finished my undergrad in freaking 2005!

Anyways, all the political nonsense and the hatred has moved me to watch college football instead. Big PAC10 fan and having fun cheering for that. (no NOT PAC12!!!) I hear what the players are saying, but at the same time I think it is disrespectful to our military and fan base to protest as so during the game. Like usual, both sides have merit.

With all that said, as I previously stated, I have chosen to watch college football and do my chores and errands on Sundays now instead. If my Chargers were still the SD Chargers however I would be watching every game, but I am having a huge problem finding another team with the drama going on.

I think trump is all for meaningful tax reform

Its the old bulls in washington who want to play footsie with the tax code for the sake of holding into their power.

It doesn't matter, but I am educated. And even compared to hillary, it is objectively no comparison. But, moreover, it is not compared to hillary. hillary is gone and done, this is only about trump now, and taking him to task for his responsibility to this country.

I get that, and this is just the internet, so I'm just venting. That being said, why are we being so cavalier about draft dodging all of a sudden? That does bother me.

He used to be fairly moderate when it came to taxes and I really liked the general idea below.

    - Lower personal tax rates on all but top group ($200k+ single, $250k+ family). I would personally like to see it raised to $250k/$300k but ... details, details

    - Keep "top tier" at the rate it is now

    - Add another level, new "Top Tier" for those making +$1M per year, at rate to be discussed.

    - Lower Corporate tax rates BY A LOT!!!

    - End corporate loopholes that only the mega corporations get to take advantage of

    Profit

    United we Stand.
    Divided we fall.

Even though I hold the opposite view on the kneelers.
I don't care for it, but I respect their right to do so.
Those who fought and died did so for all people. Those they agree with and those they don't.
