I'm shocked the Israeli government didn't force out the Palestinians at gunpoint and move their people into the West Bank, its not like anyone would try to stop them their military is top notch and I know they likely have a nuclear deterrent force to use if needed and I suspect they would if anyone forced them to. As for our government if we want to park our embassy in Jerusalem its our business not the UN's.

The international aid thing is a scam. Even with Israel's tiny population and huge sums of money given, it amount to about 500 bucks a year for every citizens (in the stupid supposition it does go down, of course). You know many people who are bought for 500 bucks a year? This isn't about the US' international aid/corruption, it's about legitimizing a crime and people are, basically, against that on principles.

LWers have been complaining for decades that the US should pull out of Europe and other countries. Now that there's a chance we'll do it, why are they whining? Pulling out of the UN and NATO will cause the US to have influence, leaving a vacuum for Russia to fill, but that's the way things were going anyway so why worry about it? Let Russia dominate Western Europe by controlling their access to energy. That's been the push all along and we'd be doing is pulling out of a losing battle over it. When war comes, the US won't be dragged into it immediately. It will be a replay of WWI/WWII; they bloody themselves for a few year, then the US will finally step in and finish it.
