Democrats are now favorites to win the house. When Republicans held a 7 point advantage going into the 2010 midterms, there were 101 seats controlled by Democrats in districts where the Democrat lead was 7 points or less. Republicans won 65 of those seats. Currently, there are 58 Republican seats in districts where the Republican lead is 12 or less. If the CNN poll is accurate though, there are 103 Republican seats in districts where the Republican lead is 18 or less.

Democrats only need to net 24 seats to flip the house.

    Not to worry!

Trump could divert public attention from his abysmal polls numbers, what the Trump Justice Department Special Counsel might expose, the widespread loathing for congressional Republicans, and their squalid legislative agenda, by contriving a war any day.

He could grab his tweeter and rave that his investigators had found stockpiles of WMD in Hawaii before "Day Care" Kelly could administer his Ritalin®.

While your faith in Ritalin is charming I seriously doubt that it is sufficient to control the man-boy's desires to become emperor of the world.

If Trump and Kim Jung-un could share in a Yucca Mountain retirement facility, the world would be a safer, pleasanter place.

Didn't 538 predict that the Beast had a 93% chance to win the presidency? Think I'll wait for the votes to be counted. I have a feeling that when Americans see the effects of the tax law in their paychecks for 9 months things may just change. I won't make predictions because we see how silly that can turn out to be.

If Republicans are trying to rely on the "wait until you see what's in the bill before deciding if you like it," then Obamacare demonstrates that they will be waiting a long time.

What else is there to do, hand wring until the elections? You and most of the left know what it's like to celebrate at the 10 yard line (see 2016 election). We know what's in the bill unlike barrycare.

Can we get out our vote with democratic party resources divided up in all those elections, like we did targeting special elections like Alabama? It takes a lot of energy to get our constituency to show up on a midterm election. I want to believe but I still think we will need four years and two election cylces to do the job.

Incumbent fatigue is a Democrat's only hope to win the election.

Let them cling to their landslide fantasy. Russians are not banned from Facebook yet, so Putin is likely to crush the DNC's blue wave with a hand full of Facebook ads nobody will see or remember.

The bottom 20% are getting an increase of 50$ per year. Good luck getting "working folks" motivated to ignore all Trump's other dumb **** off that increase in take home pay.

Rely on Democrats not to adequately express their message.

They are pretty good at that.

Dems are energized nationwide by the BLOTUS. The Dems found themselves inundated with volunteers when they should have been having a snooze fest. The OP shows that have something like a +18 advantage in the House. All it takes would be to flip 24 seats.

Yes, it will take a 2nd election cycle to fumigate the Oval office but no point in waiting until then to get started.
