    Its amazing how he played football, tennis and squash; and was taking up golf. His medical history was unblemished, aside from a routine appendectomy when he was 10, up to this point he had gotten 4 college deferments and then when he graduated college all of a sudden he developed bone spurs. How convenient. He plays golf constantly these days, but those same bone spurs don't seem to affect him the least bit.

    Why does it matter what party if any a Veteran belongs to? Just asking do you measure out the level of respect you have for those who who served based on partisan identity or on PARTIZAN identities?

    She is a Democrat. She was sent to Iraq under President Bush and lost both legs and suffered arm damage. Apparently she is permanently extremely bitter at all Republicans blaming them for her severe and permanent war injuries.

    I did not call Trump a draft dodger so why are you Ranting??

    You obviously do not know what AWOL means and you just made a fool out of yourself calling Clinton out fir being AWOL. Clinton would have been in the military in order to have been charged with being AWOL. Since Bill never served it is impossible fir the draft avoider to have ever been AbsentvWithOutLeave. Google thr UCMJ since you seem unaware of the definition of the terms you are throwing up.

    None of us who served have any respect for drafty dodgers and some Vets have not much respect for draft avoiders.

    The only type of DIDGERS I like are those who play baseball especially the old Brooklyn Dodgers!

    Clinton had taken the oath - and later refused to report. That is AWOL. However, as you suggested, I did go ahead and research it. A reservist not showing up is "AWOL" but is not treated so IF it was a reservist not showing up for training - which now is nearly always the case. Usually, if repeatedly not showing up, the person is kicked out of the reserve. HOWEVER, if it is refusing to report for involuntary active service - as was the case with Clinton - then it is AWOL identical to active duty personnel.

    "Failure or refusal to comply with such orders to involuntary active duty constitutes absence without leave AWOL, and the member is treated just as active duty members are."

    Bill Clinton did go "AWOL." Then again, I don't see reason to bandy words. It is the principle that counts, isn't it?

    I'm curious. Do you hold it against anyone who avoided being drafted to Vietnam during the period of college deference who was enrolled in college? One of the great things MLK Jr managed was getting the college deference eliminated as it was the rich-kids way to avoid the draft, leading to a disproportionate number of poor blacks being drafted to Vietnam - a war MLK Jr opposed to begin with.

    Veterans rightly have no less nor more voice than anyone else. Claiming that veterans should have a greater voice is not accurate and is a hypocrisy.

    If "serving" makes a person more knowledgeable, then NO ONE on the forum has ANY business ever criticizing or disputing ANYONE in Congress, the President or any federal judge - since none of us have served in any of those capacities and therefore have lesser knowledge.

    I have only known ONE person who joined the military specifically to go fight in any of the more modern wars (from Vietnam thru today) and that was one of my children who joined the Marines specifically to go fight in Afghanistan. His wish was definitely granted! Sent straight to the Helmand District at the height of the fighting. The other two of my children who joined did so for the benefits, including long-term positive resume items added for post military service employment. Neither of those 2 joined wanting to go into combat, though 1 still in has been repeatedly in combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan. The other, no longer in and never anything even close to combat, has a sensational military-related government job that grew out of service history and skill sets acquired in the military.

    I had an uncle that was rejected back in the 50's for flat feet, the guy was an avid hunter and walked fields and up and down hills and mountains all day for 40+ years with no problems.
