This country was born into socialism. Everyone in this country is a socialist, it just depends on what kind of socialism does one support: Democratic socialism, ie Bernie Sanders. Plutocratic socialism, ie Commie Donnie. Democratic socialism and private enterprise tend to be more compatible to create economic growth; capitalization of the demand-side of the economic equation. Plutocratic socialism is more about just redistributing, rather than creating wealth, from the poor and the middle class to the rich.
I glad to read that you are admitting to be ignorant of American history. Public goods are economic products that are consumed collectively, like highways, sanitation, schools, national defense, police, postal service and fire protection.
It is unbelievable how right-wing socialists have so little understanding about the importance of economic growth via the capitalization of the demand-side of the economic equation.
Paul Ryan gets massive donations from billionaires after helping pass tax reform: Report http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/p...elping-pass-tax-reform-report/article/2646616 How about the conservative Washington Examiner. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/koch-paysout-to-ryan-after-taxlaw_us_5a63ce41e4b0dc592a09697c
Okay. That's better. The people of Ryan's district are going to have to decide if they want to send someone like that back to Congress.
I don't approve of this sort of thing, but isn't this how it's worked for decades? Every politician's services have been for sale to all comers for a long time.
And you are ignorant of what socialism is? Voting to tax yourself a reasonable amount to finance public services (i.e. police, fire, military, etc.) that all enjoy can in no way be considered socialistic.
The Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v. FEC lifted previously legislated campaign contribution restrictions because political money donations are a form of protected speech under the 1st Amendment, or so they say. Hell, they never dreamed what with SCOTUS protecting flag burning and pornography what the ramifications of free speech twisted and metastisized by SCOTUS would eventually lead to. What the Koch brothers did is perfectly legal. There's less and less that is illegal every day that goes on.
so·cial·ism a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. Wanna try again?
No. You should however. Voting to tax myself so I have water and sewer service is in no way socialistic! Me voting to finance the things that my community needs to live a civilized life is simply me investing my money wisely in a needed service. Period! If someone took my money so someone else could have health care...that's socialism. Learn the difference between self imposed and government imposed. You don't have a clue.
I guess you don't mind pay for play -- when it is working for your side. For you, it has to be a Clinton to be bad: http://www.politicalforum.com/index...tory-fund-350-000-src.472438/#post-1066565002 The hypocrisy is astounding.
I'd be offended by your comment under normal circumstances but your observation is so lame it just amuses me. Please point out where I said I approved of Ryan's behavior. I'll be waiting.
So, if you don't approve of Ryan's behavior, then why don't you openly state it, instead of waffling about "it is up to the voters to decide"?
Sounds like you are projecting who you are onto myself? You re just in denial of socialism in this country from DAY ONE. Socialist Army Socialist Navy Socialist School System Socialist Post Office Socialist Roads
Come back when you have an actual working concept of what socialism is. You know nothing at all. "No. It's a government service. No, it is not 'socialist'. It's a government service. Paid for by the taxpayers. It's no different than a postal worker, police, or any other government job in that regards. Housing, uniforms, medical care, etc, are all "tools of the trade" and part of their benefit/compensation package (like any other job). Joining is a contract between employee and employer. Each Armed Service is a highly structured hierarchy, based on a firmly established chain of command, which begins at the President and extends down to each Soldier, Airman, Sailor, and Marine. The military rewards hard work, perseverance, and devotion to the Nation above anything else...Regardless of the individual's race, background, or ideology. There is no "social ownership" by the members of the military. Benefits are not rewarded to service members based on being part of the military "society" but as payment for services rendered."
