I haven't been here for YEARS!!! Now, we have new people. The subject is "Evolution". I believe it is a religion without any scientific validations. I have posted this here in the past and am now doing it again for new users, and/or people who would like to discuss... If anyone can tell me who believes that evolution is not a religion, which it is, I would be more than happy to break you of that belief using your own science.... Please... try me...
Obviously, you both have no merit to discuss the subjuct, therefore you do everything to discredit the subject without discussing it... This thread is an ongoing thing I created like 10 (ten) years ago with great results with those who were knowledgeable about the subject. Please leave this to those who actually want to discuss the subject please...
Look at my past and see this is like my 6th edition of this same thread... People like to talk... this is a political stand point on religion and science... If you want to discuss, then discuss... please try not to be a troll, just because you do not agree...
You can do Evolution 1000.0 as far as I am concerned. It will change nothing so, see you in some more years perhaps.
Evolution is a scientific fact ... same as gravity. Just because I believe that gravity exists does not make belief in gravity a religion. Evolution is simply small changes to human DNA over time. These changes sometimes result in changes to the characteristics of a given individual in a species. More hair, less hair, eye color, siamese twins ... and so on. Evolution is all around you. If not for evolution all humans would look exactly the same. Denial of this fact is akin to denial of the existence of gravity.
Had I used fewer words my reply would probably have seemed insulting rather than the pleasant explanation of uselessness it provided.
Ok, I'm satisfied. My answer would have been "the point is moot." IOW, who in these debates ever changes sides? Both sides refuse to see the logic or reason in the others' arguments. I am at peace so that's good enough for me. Besides, the most imperative issue has never been evolution vs. creationism. It has always been >> given evolution is the process as a premise, could it have occurred without an Intelligent Designer, yes or no? That is what matters.
I know how evolution works, that is why this is like the seventh (7th) installment of this post... I believe that you do not. Now, if you want to discuss it, I will be happy to prove that evolution is a religion..
Since this premise was soundly refuted on the first page of your first installment, making a 6th is quite silly.
FACT!!!! EVOLUTION IS A FACT!!!! You just said more that Evolutionary Scientist... Fact... Wow!!! How so?
How is evolution nothing more than a pipe dream or a fantastic thing people came up with to combat religion.... EVOLUTION IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!
The entire question strikes me as ridiculously over-simplistic word-play. "Evolution" isn't even a singular thing and in no way comes anywhere close to any conventional definition of "religion". You could present a hypothesis that evolutionary theory forms part of some kind of religion, though that wouldn't mean any part of it is necessarily wrong. You could also engage in debate about the accuracy and validity of various elements or ideas within evolutionary theory, historic and contemporary, though I doubt that would ever satisfy your underlying intent.
Maybe not in the arena of evolution, but there are other ways or evidence to argue for the existence of the supernatural. And if one can get science to say there is no "natural" way all these infinite transformations could have all occurred with such precision and design, then I submit the "supernatural" becomes the default answer.
There is nothing to debate. Your premise was soundly defeated on the first page of your first installment. Making a 6th is just silly.
Best reply so far... I say that evolution is a religion because there is no proof of evolution. Just like priest or whoever... YOU BELIEVE they are telling the truth without no proof... If evolution is real... show me proof instead of it being "Faith Based" like Jesus...
If you means "says" is the same as "has proven" then I am not accepting that. All those amazing evolution steps all happened how?... by chance? Because atheistic evolution says there is no intellgent force behind the choices. So what does this "natural selection" even mean? To me, it means nothing. Somehow a reptile "willed" feathers and wings to start growing on its next baby?
I have no intention of explaining Darwinian evolution to someone who will obviously avoid listening. I will instead provide a link you will ignore in preference of believing in miracles. https://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/evo_01
