'Counter-Semitic' candidate runs as Republican in California Senate race

What can the California GOP do? If he winds up on the ballot there any way they can remove the party's name? Will they have to just continuously distance themselves from him?

There is no chance this guy ever gets on the general ballot. There is no chance a Republican gets on the ballot in the general election.

Nothing baffling about it. People are increasingly encouraged to create their own reality, so they do. Rather than process unpleasant facts they just deny them & seek out others who agree with their denial. You can predict with a fair bit of precision the rote learned responses. Every person who agrees with them helps them cement the delusion.

I suspect some of them know they are lying. Some of those think that admitting wrong is 'helping' the 'other side', which is apparently the worst thing you can do if you have a mental age of 10. Others, I suspect quite a few, are so deeply insecure that they are deathly afraid of anything that might look like 'weakness'. The internet seems to draw such weak personalities like flies to honey.

Whether it is delusion or lies it is not only pathetic, it is profoundly damaging to public discourse.
