That's why WE think we're great, because we can be diplomatic, be influential and blow people up. Sounds fascinating on an outside look but internally, as far as our homeland, culture, way of life, technology, society and principles go, what stands out about us? We have freedom of speech, religion, expression and all that but so do so many other countries. We have due process in the law and the right to a fair trial, well so do a bunch of other places. We have great natural landscapes, well so do other places.

 

I've explained it to you, what we have allowed us to become and maintain our status as a superpower, if you don't get it, not my problem...

 

Status alone doesn't make you great.

 

No doubt, it was what it took to gain and maintain that status that made us great. We started as a fractured union, within 100 years fell upon ourselves in civil war, and within 100 years of that became the most powerful nation the world has ever seen. We earned the status, its not like it was just given to us...

 

It of course, IMO, still is superior to many nations, even in the west. But much less superior than it once was, when hundreds of millions of average americans were represented in DC. For decades this has not been the case at all, as evidence by Princeton and Northwestern in a study that MSM mostly ignored and never investigated it themselves, given its tremendous relevance. Relevant because what was evidenced was that this Republic is in operation no longer a genuine Republic, given that hundreds of millions of us are not represented in DC by the very people we send there to do that. Only special interests, big banking, MNCs and those elites that own them get representation, their self interests, while the average american has been tossed to the side and ignored, forgotten. This played a major role in electing Trump, BTW, which was referenced by Franks in his book and his talks on You Tube, called Listen Liberal!. Of course the modern democrat has to ignore this liberal democrat because they know he speaks the common sense truth based upon facts.

If we will remain superior is not a given, IMO. The trend we have seen in recent decades seems to be enough change to question this. When economic globalism, the newest scheme of the elites inevitably creates an america that has a small middle class, a tiny very rich upper class with the rest of the nation either jobless poor, or working poor, that superiority will be long gone. It takes more to create and sustain a superior civilization than just the world's strongest military. Especially when that military has to rely upon foreigners seeking citizenship by military service due to not enough american citizens volunteering to defend and protect this nation of ours. A very bad sign, IMO. And a smell of rot that will not sustain a superior nation as we once were, but are losing.

 

No status is just given out but it takes far more than just a status name to be a great nation. A strong military and good diplomacy skills is cool and all but it's ultimately meaningless if the society and politics of said nation are terrible or just plain unimpressive or if crime is high or the air is highly polluted.

At the obvious cost that citizens of those countries are happier on average than Americans. I would guess that a joyful, happy life is the overriding goal of most people in most if not every country.
