    And... the conversation is over.

Fact of the matter is, everybody is aided to some degree. The world is not black and white.

When considering the definition of "self-made", everybody is aided to some degree.

We should evaluate the number of people that are successful against those who are not with similar opportunities.

The problem here is, we are establishing a culture where people feel its easier or more desirable to bitch and moan about other people to justify their failures rather than looking in the mirror and seeing the real issue. NOBODY IS POOR because somebody else is rich. That is not our our system works.

But... hey, the same people making the case for socialist policies and fairness are typically the ones that failed and haven't made their own success a priority. Luckily for us, most of the decision makers in this country are from the successful side of things. People gonna hate.

Sure he does! The main problem according to the right wing with the Canadian healthcare system is it attempts to treat everyone equally instead of prioritizing healthcare by wealth. The Canadians who can afford it sometimes come to the US in order to jump the line.

The simple fact is thst Csnadians are much more satisfied with their countries healthcare system than US citizens despite the fact that the Canadian system is consumes a significantly lower percentage of the countries GDP.

Its funny, I treat Canadians routinely-they come down here to winter, and to get the healthcare they can't get up in kanukistan.

Rights, always extremely proud of this especially now watching Europe eating itself
Wealth, Not necessarily a good thing

Everything else is pretty much a wash including healthcare, education, and elections.

Demonstrably less factual and honest than a used car salesman in a recession, in Bolivia,

Does not mean all universal health care is bad. Here and in many countries the very definition of political suicide is to threaten the universal health care system

Exactly. We spend more than any other country in the world and somehow manage to achieve inferior results. But not to worry, Trump has promised great healthcare for all Americans.

They were repaid in kind twice, when we saved them from themselves and other Euro-trash, there shouldn't be a third time...

All meaningless, countries aren't fragments of the whole, and you ignore every important metric in lieu of subjective nonsense like 'happiness' and whatnot...

By what metric are you claiming that we are the most powerful nation in the world. Amount of weapons perhaps is your criteria for a countries greatness. Just think of all the nations that have been the " most powerful nation in the world" and then look at where they are now.

No I haven't presented any evidence you will accept which is entirely different. In fact I will bet you cannot elucidate what evidence or metric you would believe and which would change you pisition. So lets turn the discussion around and how about you state what makes you think America is superior to every other nation in the world.

well since the title of the thread includes the phrase change my mind, you have failed the stupid piddly little s*** you listed does not make America anything but the best country in my opinion.

I don't deny that it's true I just don't see it as a reason to think our country is not the best.

I listed the reasons why I think our country is the best you didn't address a damn one of them

well I actually can, you never asked shame on you for assuming.

Show me a country that has a more comprehensive and more robust Constitution then ours one that guarantees more rights and is more stringent to amend.

more freedoms the guaranteed enshrined right to free speech there's also the Second Amendment Freedom's you don't have venom really any other country.

Also our country has the highest wages, we've pretty much eliminated starvation as a cause of death in our country, most powerful military, most wealthy.

    Our culture is superior.

Using the only metrics that matter, those that make the US a superpower, they are well defined. Educate yourself on the matter and simply accept that all other nations are less than the US...

What I call them does not change the power of the United States, so you are making no sense in terms of what is actually being discussed. How utterly pathetic of you...

Thank you for confirming that you have no idea which metrics confirm your position. If you actually had any matrics you would post them. Obviously you don't since apparently you cannot even list one single metric.

Or is it your contention that the only real criteria for judging the superiority of a country is it's military power.

You have never given a list that I recall. Except perhaps the uninformed statement that our constitution somehow made us superior when most countries have constitutions that guarantee individual rights. And the second amendment is a dubious freedom since it also results in a very high murder rate as compared to other developed countries.

And we are not the most wealthy country in the only measure that counts which is per capita GDP. We also do not have the lowest poverty rates .

    https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/fields/2046.html

Nor do we have the highest wages:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_average_wage

The only thing you have said that is true is we do have the most powerful military which makes sense considering we spend more than the next seven countries combined. They spend the money on their people and quality of life.
