One straw man attacks the other. I think it's obvious that our goal is not to fill the CIA with "pure as the driven snow patriots" nor is it in our best interests to turn a blind eye to the CIA and out of control rogue intelligence agencies.

I think it's significant that this Washington Post op- ed came only a month after the Kennedy assassination, which inarguably had the fingerprints of the CIA ALL over the coup of our president and marked a real radical turn of our priorities under LBJ and the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us all about.

And I suppose we should be grateful that an unhinged blowhard like John Brennan is only able to publicly flay Donald Trump in the press rather than depose of him in some overtly nasty shocking way like we saw in Dallas (though that door is always open to the people who
will do anything to nullify the 2016 election).

The American intelligence shadow government has metastasized and become larger and larger until our many competing agencies,
unknown to most citizens, gobbles up money and operates mostly in the dark with seemingly only the barest of supervision or purpose.

The NSA, for instance, can listen in to anyone at any time and it was used by the Obama administration to keep tabs on political opponents. Who is watching the watchers? It's time to put a bigger leash on the watchdogs before the leash is put on us.

Unsubstantiated doubt driven by partisan paranoia. I'll give you that. But solid evidence? There is none.
Just ask Robert Mueller who has thrown up his hands and long ago stopped pretending he could bust Trump for colluding with Putin.


There is absolutely zero evidence that Donald Trump's election win was not legitimate or genuine. Sane and rational Americans don't go
around chasing their unicorns in the hopes they will somehow justify their unreasoning Trump derangement disease.
There is nothing sane or rational about mass hysteria.

 

I do agree with the spirit of much of your post. What I don't accept is that all of these disparate intel agencies and the media are conspiring to impeach trump. That's a leap of crazy that I won't take.

 

This has absolutely nothing to do with Obama's head of cyber security being told to stand down in the summer of 2016 but I guess that's your point. And that, in itself, is significant.

Not all of them. And not all of the agencies themselves who are involved.
But it's undoubtedly true that a small cadre of top officials
(such as Comey and Strzok at the FBI, for instance) worked very diligently and secretly to nullify the results of the '16 election.

The media, of course, does what it can to support the narrative the left is pushing without overtly appearing to take sides. And pop culture comes along like little brother or sister playing the naughty juvenile, saying whatever it wants with no sense of consequence or responsibility
whatsoever.

 

I guess standing down our cyber security against Russian meddling would keep the "intel decision loop" very small indeed.
Nonexistent, one could say.

 

I was watching CNN nd one of the women said:

"Unless he is removed from office, he will win again in 2020. The American people are simply not caring about the Russia story at all."

Whether you like him or not, you have to understand that people do not trust the media, in many cases they trust it less than Trump. The boy who cried wolf syndrome has officially happened. There have been so many fake stories, and flat out lies, that unless there is flat out evidence to prove this, the people don't care.

And no, there has not been full evidence no matter how much smoke you think you have seen. A lot of us still have only seen stupidity, not treason.

To freak out and say he needs to be impeached is not a way to win these voters. It will only push them to hate the media more.

Benedict Arnold was a patriot, to the British. So based on context I can see where you get your views.

 

At the very least, you can't dispute that Mueller is a true American patriot and incorruptible.
