Trump surrounds himself with controversy, loving every minute of it. No doubt he is enjoying himself with all the attention Manafort and Cohen are giving him. Why? Because he simply doesn't care. On the day of the world shattering announcements, he went on a political rally in Charleston, WV.

Time after time, Trump makes some really stupid statements, really dumb decisions, and he spends hours coming up with moronic, infantile, vindictive tweets that feed his many obsessions. It does no good for the media to focus on these. Actually, it does a great deal of harm.

How many times have we heard the media say Trump has "doubled down" on some foolish decision, some foolish tweet? That's because, if he has something that really pisses off the media, he will "double down," making it even more foolish. He does this because all the media attention feeds his monster super ego and he is enjoying it.

You can tell he is enjoying himself because of his facial expressions and his demeanor. He loves the attention.

It is incomprehensible that a President would offer his opinion of an ongoing trial. What does Trump do? He tells a national television audience that Manafort is a really nice guy and his trial is a disgrace. Trump loves the attention that one got.

He got a tremendous amount of attention when he revoked Brennan's security clearance, nearly all of it negative. What does Trump do? He says he will probably do the same with nine other critics of his administration. Trump absolutely loves all the attention he got with that announcement.

Mueller really does not care if Trump refuses to present his side of the Russian probe, and no way will he get involved in litigation concerning a subpoena that will last until Christmas, Christmas of '19. Trump and his lawyer, Giuliani, have been making hay of this non-controversy for months. They argue against themselves and change their stories much to the delight of an American audience. And much to the delight of an audience of one in the Oval Office. Trump absolutely loves it.

I could go on all day, but the reader gets my point. When Trump issues a statement, makes a decision, writes a tweet, the more un-Presidential it is, the more controversial it is, the more anal-retentive it is, the more ill-advised it is the better. The longer the controversy goes on the better.

That is because, if the media is talking about something he did or said that was incomprehensibly stupid, then they are not talking about his collaboration with Russia during the 2016 election.

 

Actually, anything a president does is presidential.

There is no such thing as unpresidential.

Let's face it, Trump feels he is above the law. It is why he does what he does. He honestly feels that he can't be touched. Not only does he feel impervious to man's laws, he feels he need not concern himself with God's law. He is on his third wife, the First Lady. When one listens to the Access Hollywood tapes, one realizes this man is completely amoral.

He has no shame. Which is why he had an affair with a Playboy bunny and a porn star virtually at the same time while married to the First Lady. That same year, 2006, Melania gave birth to Barron in March.

What seems strange is that his fans don't care.

Yup, that is what his fans think, alright. According to them, the U.S. changed when Trump took office on Jan. 20, 2017. All the previous rules about decorum and relationships went out the window. His fans wanted chaos in government, and that is what they are getting. Despite all that has gone wrong with the Trump Presidency, that is why they stay loyal to Trump.

This begs a question. Why do these Americans want chaos in government? They say strange things like draining the swamp, as if some ludicrous campaign slogan is the answer. They fail to realize that in every respect Trump is the swamp. His administration is embroiled in more scandal and controversy than any other Presidency in American history.

He feels the free press is the real enemy of the American people, and he refuses to respond to reporters and hold a legitimate news conference. He refuses to hold a press conference similar to what Sanders does nearly every week. The White House press corps is the eyes and ears of the American people. Trump has shut himself off from access to the press corps.

He has become the secret President. His communication to the people is one-way, tweets, statements without questions, and political rallies. That is not communication. That is propaganda.

His fans don't seem to mind.

 

If every administration was being looked at with a fine tooth comb like Trumps is they would all be embroiled in controversy also.

I bet more than half of Obama's team would be sitting in prison right now.

While you are technically right I don't think that is what people are getting at when they use the term presidential. They are rightly or wrong associating it with a set of standards that they envision. People often set standards for people in positions of authority that are not mandated by the profession. Even in non professional settings, people set standards for parenting, spouses, friendship etc... But usually there is no mandate other than abiding by the law.

 

Of course you are correct but standards change for presidents all the time.

In fact, many people on both sides have been whining about presidents all being the same, carbon copies of each other and they've been begging for a fresh style.

When they finally get it they complain and want it back the old way.

I for one find it refreshing and am looking forward to how future presidents may change because Trump shattered those old methods.

For instance, I imagine future presidents will begin making use of social media far more now so they can communicate more directly with the public.

And this current style of presidential actions really only started with Truman, the guys before him were very similar to Trump.

The ones at the beginning of the 19th century were full on pricks in the public. Lincoln actually would tell people to shut up or simply dismiss them with a wave of his hand if he didn't like their questioning.

 

At this point, if Trump had a brain, if he really wanted to minimize the damage wrought by Cohen, Manafort, and now his good friend, National Enquirer boss, David Pecker, he would keep quiet and let his lawyers do the talking once they figure out what they are going to say. But that is not his style. He think he is his own bast advocate.

So, instead, oblivious to the law, he goes on Fox and Friends and makes a complete fool of himself. He also incriminates himself ... again.

No doubt the idiot is enjoying himself. It doesn't matter that he acts like a fool. He is the center of attention.

That he is for sure.

 

Whatever you do, don't deal with the facts. Using name calling and false characterizations attack the messenger, not the message. These are the tactics of a Trump follower.

I'm certain I have told you this before, and you ignored it before.

You weren't paying close attention during the 2016 primaries. The media played into Trump's playbook and he won the primaries and the electoral college.

Today, dems are hysterical about Trump. And the people are angry that things aren't getting done that they wanted done, just like things have been SINCE 2010. The common denominator is that dems are objecting to change.

Trump couldn't have planned it better HIMSELF.

Of course we know Trump has a longing for communist dictators. At Helsinki, Trump rejected American intelligence and believed Putin because the communist dictator was forceful. "My people came to me, Dan Coats [DNI] came to me, some others, they said they think it's Russia. I have President Putin. He just said it's not Russia. I will say this, I don't see any reason why it would be. I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial."

In addition, Trump blamed the U.S. for the strained relations caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, her alliance with Syria and Iran, and her interference in our election.

Like I said, the man enjoys controversy, even if he has to make himself look like a fool creating it.

 

You do not understand Trump very well. He is giving Kim a chance. Trump always starts out on the best footing he can and then takes action as it is warranted.
