McCain Feingold, silencing the free expression of all but the political parties and individual candidates, declared Unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, is his legacy. And his use of the IRS to bankrupt tea party groups, to selectively achieve the same goal of that which was declared to be unconstitutional, against the tea party who opposed him within his own political party. Condolences to his family.

Tribute to Capt. John S, McCain (USN)

This hymn "Eternal Father Strong To Save" (Navy Hymn) will be played at McCain's funeral.

I remember Senator McCain's very classy response at a town hall discussion to that woman who claimed that Obama was not born in the USA.

It probably cost McCain the election, 10 million would stay home and not go to the polls.

For the longest time I always thought that Anchors Aweigh was the U.S. Navy hymn.

Some sailor friend of mine, a Chief, set me straight on that finally.

Anchors Aweigh is the Navy Fight Song at Annapolis. McCain graduated from the boat school while I was in preschool and roughly 1 or 2 years before I decided to become a Marine.

I think McCain's comment that "the fundamentals of the economy are sound" about 2 weeks before it crashed back in 2008 is what cost him the election.

Hawaii has been in the USA since 1898 long before any of us was born there or elsewhere.

I hope Ariz. Gov. Doug Ducey makes a really good choice for an appointment to fill McCain's now-empty seat.

Arizona is the heart of the Conservative movement in the U.S.

I never voted for him but I still think he was one of the Greatest Americans of our time. I still remember the time he wouldn't let a supporter try to denigrate Obama as a non-American because it was untrue. He wouldn't have been a bad President at all, it's just that the country needed something different at the time

    Oh yeah, the Palin resistance.

The MSM attacked Palin ASAP and continue attacking her and her family even today.

What really happened when Sen. McCain announced that his running mate would be Sarah Palin, McCain skyrocketed in the polls and the DNC panicked big time and contacted the MSM to do something.

    High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

    -John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Palin being born may be yet another reason that McCain lost the election in 2008.

Missile dodging 101 during flight school at Pensacola would have been a good topic for McCain to have gotten better at. It would have saved him 5 good years of his life and his plane.

This Tuesday is Arizona's Republican primary.

If I were Gov. Ducey and Sheriff Joe doesn't win the Republican nomination for the Senate, I would appoint Sheriff Joe Arpaio to finish out Sen. McCain's term in the Senate.

It could really happen, Gov. Ducey endorsed the toughest Sheriff in America back in 2017.

    Will see what happens.

Now that McCain is gone all we have to do is wait for Flake to leave then we will be again.

Those two were quite the pair.

I may not have agreed with most of what McCain stood for, but he was a brother-in-arms.

A Republican who was a man of honor.

I've always been told that Russian SAMs flying at multiple Mach numbers were a little difficult to get away from but it seems they would be no problem for you pilots from the Trump Academy of Bonespur Based Air Combat
