My husband would always tell our boys to hang on to his back pocket. There is nothing more frantic than losing sight of your child.

 

I have been to both.

 

I do not buy seafood in a seafood market if it smells fishy. Not going to happen. I went to a local seafood market and the smell made me walk out never to return. Seafood properly kept will not smell strong.

 

Fuel?

You will know when filled full to capacity. As some gas will leak out at times.

 

Agreed. But it still should have a smell. If it smells like 'nothing', then nothing it will be.

 

Flatulence. The sign of age, lol.

 

Just finished my Federal and State tax returns for 2017.

Owed just under $1000.00 for Fed beyond what I paid in, and getting a refund for State.

Then I set up a spreadsheet to calculate 2018 and found that I am just under $2000.00 underpaid while overpaid for State.

So I will send the IRS another $2K by Sept 15th, which is the payment deadline for year to date estimated taxes so far.

Yay! That headache is finished now until April 15, 2019 when I will need to extend or file my returns for this year. I normally extend them and then complete them by September. They are due Oct 15th when extended.

 

Beans too. Or onions. Or a lot of milk.

 

Ideally seafood and fish will have no smell if properly iced upon being caught.

 

Sign of age, huh. Pull my finger.

 

Well, as usual we are suppose to get some rain on Labor Day. At least this one will be hot and muggy.

Have you taken into consideration all the fancy footwork of the new and improved tax system (sarcasm alert!) when calculating what you'll owe?

 

Even the freshest of the fresh will still smell like the sea, with a particular leaning towards the type of seafood it is. It's virtually impossible to have no smell at all.

 

Happy Sunday. Cooking today. Pork roast, yams, southern fried cabbage, cucumber and onion salad. Smells like a soul food restaurant in here.

Nothing as nasty as spoiled seafood. But a lot can be said about getting it fresh off the boat.

 

Had fresh (as in swimming less then 24 hours before I received it) crab flash frozen and shipped overnight to me one time. The shipping cost more then the crab, but it was worth it!!

 

Reminds me of a story where a couple divorce and she gets to live in their mansion for 60 days, then it goes back to him. She spent her time carefully sewing raw shrimp into the hems of the expensive drapes that stayed with the house. My kinda gal.

 

Rainy Labor Day in Big D. Lotsa BBQ events moving to Plan B.

 

We spend time houseboating on Lake Powell every summer. I take my fry daddy along. I motor around in my boat looking for striper boils in the evening. I generally rip 5 or 6 fish in the 4-5# range and about an hour later we are eating fish tacos. It doesn’t get better than that.

 

Sounds like everyone has a fishy tale.

The shrimp lady was intent on getting back. Yuck rotten shrimp!!

 

Alright People of the Strange Brews. Labor Day. Where we celebrate People working by taking the day off work.

 

Well we got the thunderstorm earlier. Rained for like 10 minutes, came down like in buckets. Then stopped. Now its raining again.

Humid and muggy out.

Kentucky Fried Chicken was open. So that solved what I was going to have for dinner tonight.




Cats enjoyed the feast too.

We have an understanding.....they don't mess with my mashed potatoes.

 

I have ideas of where I would sew those shrimp...how about in the cuff of his favorite suit or better yet in the lining of his jacket..

 

That is too, too sweet. Animals do the darndest things.
