I often discuss and/or participate in things I don't care for and/or don't care about. Just staff meetings alone - *shrugs*
Is it really? Libs demand that their robots tow the line, and if they attempt to think for themselves, they are destroyed. I don't call THAT freedom. What is really scary is that Ahmadinejad supposedly tweeted in support of Kaepernick. If that is real and not fake news, the ruthless dictator would seem to support Democrats. That would be all anyone would need to know because he must feel they are his compadres. After all, he's antiAmerican too.
I would say your post isn't representative of a free thinking mind. Looks like you're caught up in something.
NPR ran this story this morning. Their take, "Nike have run the numbers, and it won't hurt them.. And they goal is to be on the "right side of history"". Yeah.. I suppose what Nike will get out of it is the bump from the "controversy" of using him. I mean it isn't like Colin is a relevant athlete anymore. He likely will never again play in the NFL, so his only value is as a semi controversial political statement. For me, I couldn't care less if Nike thinks he can drive a few extra shoe sales. Good for Colin though in figuring out how not to entirely be a has been.
But the irony is if people just pretended Kap was unimportant and paid him no mind then his protesting would’ve ended before it even began and we wouldn’t be talking about it two years later.
This old white guy is going out today to buy a pair of Nike shoes, and maybe a Nike shirt too. CK has more courage and principle in his little finger than DJT has in his entire body, ugly as it is.
To Nike and those who embrace their effort: From Johnny (Joey) Jones, double amputee veteran of Iraq:
Where are all the atheists here? Don't atheists oppose belief in something that is not grounded in verifiable proof? What do these "knee takers" believe in that is verifiable? Looks like they believe in a myth. C'mon atheists, have at it!
I guess because, like drugs and slavery, there is money in hate peddling. Problem is, along with being killed for your shoes in the hood, now they'll kill you for wearing the wrong shoes.
Maybe....maybe not. I know I don't buy products based on political views or commercials. I buy products based on quality, comfort, function, etc. I can't be the only one who isn't a sheep that just buys things based on a commercial.
You have to admit those Nikes strung together and hanging from a powerline in the hood add something to the community.........a touch of class.
It isn't? Funny, it's part of what started this nation, and deliberately alluded to in the 1st Amendment.
