The first of many to come.

In the name of hate speech, what we will see and hear is gonna be curated.

The trend started years ago, when the internet overtook print and other media.

Who remembers, years ago, when ppl claimed to be shadow banned were called nuts or conspiracy theorists?

Hey - we warned you about banning people from businesses - like people asking for wedding cakes - and you people said that business owners had the right to make their own rules about who they would serve - so I don't want to hear crap about the owners of Twitter deciding who they will serve from conservatives.

I'm okay with private businesses banning people, especially if they violate clear rules. This applies to bakers as well as internet platforms. Isn't Twitter free? Did Alex pay for the service or just mooch off of it?

SCOTUS made you get gay married?
And yes - I’m perfectly fine with two consenting adults being able to sign a civil document

Agreed. Can't have it both ways. I support the right of private businesses to ban assclowns or anyone else they don't like.

Most of America is in agreement with the decision.
So yes, seriously - what else did they “shove down your throat”?

No sadly, not a troll, but I’m sure some will be along shortly

What if I told you the gov and the private business are intertwined?

It that is the case, would you be okay with it?

Probably someone doesn't notice something because it doesn't exist.

Whoa, I be sceeered by your threat. Ain't you the social justice warrior!

I think it's a very dangerous thing to see dominant public platforms in the social media world decide who gets to use their services.

Would people complain if telephone companies decided to cut off service from people they don't like?

How about a cable company deciding to cut out CNN, or MSNBC because they don't like their content?

As I see it, the emotionalism many on the left operate from blinds them from the bigger picture.

So people think Alex Jones is a tool. So what? Don't engage or read his stuff. I think DailyKos, or ThinkProgress are some of worst conspiracy sites on the internet, but I wouldn't support banning them from Facebook, or having their ludicrous BS banned from Twitter.

That cliff the New Democratic Party faithful are heading for is not going to end well for them.

As I wrote, they are oblivious to it. Emotionalism does that.

Tell us more. How is someone being banned from Twitter a slippery slope, and what do people left of the increasingly disenfranchised political center have to do with it?

Who cares if Alex Jones twitters or not, I can still hear him and read his messages - but who knows for how long.

I think I've presented my case as well as necessary. If you don't get it, you don't get it.

As to people on the left, Alex Jones is one of their favorite punching bags. Maybe I missed it, but I'm seeing lots of cheering for this elimination of someone they don't like.

Want to try and deny that?

For as long as he cares to find a venue. No one can silence him on his own platform. Companies such as Facebook, Twitter and Apple have rules that they must enforce equally and fairly, and they all say Jones has broken their rules.

It is not a free speech or censorship issue, no matter how much trolls and agent provocateurs would claim otherwise.

Except in the minds of those who seems to confuse freedom of speech with " I can say whatever I want wherever I want"

    Tell me

Was projecting messages onto Trump tower also expressing freedom of speech?

You have presented no case at all in this thread, but instead come out with an unsupported statement that this is a slippery slope.

As for people cheering, I think it's fine if people don't like Jones and are happy to see this happen to him. It's just not fine if they support unfair and unlawful actions against him, such as silencing him simply because they disagree with him, find him repugnant, and so on. But, so far, this is just a handful of corporate entities enforcing their rules and banning the guy from their platforms. No matter how people feel about it, that is what it is. Anyway, there are probably people right of center who don't care for Jones, either. The guy is hardly representative of any mainstream political platform.
