Ok... Let's get one obvious fact straight: The Republican Party controls everything

Republicans won the elections! They own the Presidency, Congress, the Supreme Court, .... all branches of government. They got a freebie SCOTUS appointment, Trump appointed his executive staff. He also appointed record numbers of federal judges. He appointed scores of U.S. Attorneys Ryan and McConnell appointed committees.

The GOP gave us the President, and the President appointed anybody he wanted. He chose whomever the hell he wanted and they got confirmed! Without even the stumbling blocks that other Presidents have had to overcome. No filibuster. No dissent within his own party to appoint whomever the hell he wanted. He fired whomever the hell he wanted. From the FBI Director to the... White House Chef!

The special counsel is a Republican. He was appointed by Republicans. Same as the FBI Director. Same as the heads of Intelligence Agencies.

So, what else do Republicans need to finally take responsibility for governing.

To escape the responsibility they now have, they make up some nutty "Deep State" Conspiracy Theory to hide their own incompetence. But Republicans are in power. Democrats are, in the best of cases, a minority in everything. In some cases they are completely absent.

And yet... Democrats are supposed to be blamed for everything

Do Republicans realize how utterly absurd this is?

If there is a Deep State... why didn't Trump get rid of it? Why didn't Congress? Why didn't all those U.S. Attorneys bring them to court? Why don't they do it right now! One possible explanation: there is no such thing. The only other one is that Trump and Congress are part of this "Deep State"

Fact is that Republicans are ill-prepared to govern. It's proven over and over every day. Even Republicans who love their country more than their party should, either vote Democrat, or abstain. I don't expect the Trump cult to be among these.

If we were to go by Trump-cult dogma, Hillary wouldn't have this much power if she had won the elections.

All through the Clinton era, all we heard about was the vast right wing conspiracy, even when he perjured himself about Lewinski, it the RWC not his fault, and half of that time the Dems were in complete control of Congress and the White House.

The Democrats controlled both the House and Senate for the first 2 years of the Clinton Presidency. The Republicans for the last 6.

The GOP-E is the Progressive wing of the Republican Party.

It is slowly being purged from Congress, with a few exceptions... like Mitt Romney's run.

Jim Jordan needs to become the next Speaker, and Mitch needs to be ousted as well.

The process is working because the voting public is now aware that the Progressive movement includes elites at the top of both parties.

Purging is not an easy task to take on but Trump is slowly running the scum out of Congress and the un-elected government.

This is fascinating to watch. Our two parties vilify one another for control of WH and Congress. Once in power they tend to vilify one another in the party itself. It’s like there is no off switch...

    IMO

    What nonsense!

First of all, Democrats did not have complete control of Congress. Read your history. Second... so what? Clinton was impeached! Third.... what was the point of your message? Was it just to waste our time? Isn't that what some call "trolling".

That's a respectable opinion, but would it be different if one of those "vilifications" was based on objective facts and the other one wasn't?

While republicans may have control of everything its not enough control, especially in the senate, to do whatever they want.

A few republican dissenters and that's usually enough to block anything.

And as was pointed out, Trump has done quite a bit, especially in the judicial area.

Most of his other agenda is tied up in this horrible congress at the moment.

A big problem is that the democrats will not compromise on anything at all. Look at what Trump offered them for his immigration bill, a free path for all the Dreamers to stay here and they turned it down.

Trumps shown he's willing to give to get but its congress that are blocking him left and right.

Not much more he can do.

Fact is we now see what Republican governance looks like, and it is the most despicable, most unConstitutional, most unAmerican E V E R.

WAIT! WHOA! HOLD IT!!!! You're saying that "Republicans" are only republicans if they are your preferred kind of republicans? LOL!!!!!!! You REALLY don't like independence and democracy in governing, do you?!!!

    Yup. A REPUBLICAN congress.

The subject was CONGRESS, -not Trump-the-non-republican.

I'm thrilled to know that there is still a progressive wing in the Republican party. But I'm not too hopeful for any ot them who are not calling out Trump now and fighting to stop this madness. This is when it counts.

BTW, what does the E stand for?

Trump used the DACA bill to get his wall built. Dems were holding his feet to the fire about his claims regarding Mexico paying for it.

And in the process they threw the dreamers under the bus.

Shows you where their priorities lay doesn't it?

On both sides, I'd say. It's something I find reprehensible on the part of both parties. They throw side deals into bills, jeopardizing the bill itself.

    They have to.

Congress does not have time to create a separate bill for every single thing.

This is why we have committees to go through them before they go to the floor.

None of the 'extras' thrown in are innocently selected. Its a disgraceful way to get one's own way. And I repeat - I hate it on BOTH sides.

Sometimes its taken advantage of but the practice itself is required.

Its also a method used to ensure the votes of some who may not wish to vote for a bill.

Its how they compromise, "vote for our bill and we will add something in for you".

And there is nothing wrong with that, its how we get bills through congress, people have to compromise.

The standard lefty spin around here is that the economy is doing well right now because of Obama.

So they want the credit for the positives, while blaming everything else on republicans.
