That's not true, he never did put a tariff on the products his family produces offshore and imports to the USA.....
For the many and not the few? Nationalists can find that difficult to understand. It's a blame gaming limitation, rather than support for positive change.
Take democracy in the workplace. Which aspect of right wing economics are you going to use to condemn that? Good luck
It's not possible to understand capitalism without reference to both exchange and coercion. That's accepted across the different schools of thought, including orthodox ones.
It’s impossible to understand capitalism without reference to freedom and voluntary interactions. Your comments are always worthless and never advance the debate 1 inch
It’s easy to understand with Ford. The company profits on their biggest selling vehicle, the f150 which has a body made of aluminum. When they designed it that way, their engineers didn’t plan on an idiot sevant being elected president. Don’t blame Ford.
Ok? Sounds like you, much like the President don't understand how tariffs work. Foreign producers aren't paying the bill, domestic importers are. Guess who they pass those costs to? That's right, American consumers. Should I PM you my paypal info? Raising the cost of goods on domestic consumers doesn't seem like an obvious path to prosperity... Maybe and still then only relatively cheaper because you've artificially inflated the price of the imported good. From the consumers perspective it's still a net loss. Regardless of your political affiliation, that tariffs are harmful, distortionary and harm consumers really isn't up for debate.
Sticking cheese in your ears won't work. As I said l, even the orthodox accept that we can't understand capitalism through reference to exchange alone. Bit of an obvious statement mind you!
Exactly. The willingness to put capitalism in one corner and socialism in another is mind boggling and shuts off any debate concerning the economy. The unwavering devotion to the idea of capitalism makes as little sense as the unwavering dedication to any “ ism.”
Some have a big affinity for boats, mainly aluminum fishing boats. All the dealers spoken to around here say the same thing. Given the tariffs, there is no way to exactly project their ultimate retail price increase at this time. But for sure, it will be higher then normal market forces have driven them before. Retail price lists for 2019 will be going up because the only thing they know is, aluminum will cost more.
For projecting a big loss of revenue and inferring the Tariffs were a causal factor. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2018/09/26/donald-trump-tariffs-ford-motor/1431916002/
so what?? the idea with tariffs is to raise prices for imports thus favoring domestic products, in this case domestic steel and aluminum. Do you understand?
https://www.newsweek.com/us-car-prices-set-increase-due-trump-china-tariffs-1128646 And, it’s not just Ford.
The idea ‘ behind it ‘ is not what is really happening. The Tariff on metals raises the price of domestically made cars too. They buy their metals from abroad, just like Trump did for his buildings .
