    Actually, if there would have been an armed staff, chances are the amount of carnage could have been drastically reduced. I think you're presenting a non-sequitur argument as there was not anyone armed in the bar. It was only the police who came and entered the seen who had weapons and that goes back to "waiting for police" to save the day. 3 minutes of gun fire can create allot of casualties.

    Granted, the initial entry of the officers was fairly quick and those brave men ran to the gun fire but waiting for police to end the event is not the best solution all the time.

    The concern is we are not addressing the mental issue part of society in general. We are merely ignoring it in hopes it self corrects or we pass another law on some more inanimate object's.

    Bars, churches, stores, schools, outdoor events... They can't all afford to hire a bunch of armed guards just in case. It will never happen.

    The damned guns have got to go. When are you people going to see sense?

    Mental issues are not going to be dealt with effectively enough to prevent these sorts of crimes. Not a solution.

    Is it safe to say that if the shooter is Antifa or BLM -- or hopefully muslim -- that we can rule out mental illness then?

    Because we all know that only shooters that are NOT in those three categories can be mentally ill....

    Well, technically its just a given if they belong to those groups that they are mentally ill. Those groups are just quantifiers of how much they are mentally ill and for how long.

    In fairness, we have NO idea what the motive or who the suspect is. The conversations merely always migrate to gun control, mental illness or racism as this is the common theme for every event of this magnitude.

    It was a pistol, and needed to be reloaded at least twice. 30 shots fired. Can't blame "assault rifles" this time, gotta look at the shooter.

    Obviously mental illness.........previous run in with law enforcement in April of this year........acting irrational but not enough to take him to a mental health facility........drove his mother’s car to the shooting.....victim of a ‘battery’ at another bar previously

    Well actually -- If the shooter belongs to any of those groups -- that is the only way "thoughts and prayers" will turn into action....

    As in action against people who protest police brutality, people who protest fascism or people who pray to that dirty old Allah.....

    When the shooter is NOT part of those groups -- thoughts and prayers will have to suffice...
