    nope, doesn't bother me

he made a post with the text “Someone reading this just got offended multiple times. My work here is done.”

then wondered why so many reported him as posting stuff intended to offend people and he got a temporary ban for a day, probably the amount of time it took a facebook rep to look at it, see it was nothing and unban it

if you say right in your post your posting to offend people, then don't be suppressed if people report you, as stupid as this was, had he just said, "I voted!" probably not been flagged

maybe to stop nusense flagging of posts like this, facebook could ban the ones that flagged it inappropriately for a month, that way people only report real offensive stuff

So his life gets blown up because he wore a MAGA hat on his own Facebook page? It's not like he lit up the peoples White House in the colors adopted by the homosexual movement, as did Obama.

No, what you did is jump to a conclusion without knowing for sure what happened.

equal rights is something we should all celebrate, I see no issue with the President doing that

"Forcing taxpayers to bear the cost of treating sick smokers, and then suing the tobacco industry for the cost; is like forcing taxpayers to eat cow manure, and blaming the cow for the taste. "

the longest person to have lived was a smoker, smoking is not as evil as you want to make it out to be, in fact sugar is causing much more 'cost' to the healthcare system then smoking ever could

If new and or more information comes out I will comment on that. Until then I comment on known facts not speculation.

Of course you are commenting on speculation.

All this from speculation: "What you see here is how socialism quickly morphs into fascism."

The FB ban is a fact not speculation. Ditto with getting fired for the FB post. Get on the socialist bus or get run over by it. That is classic fascism

Facebook has rules of use. No one owes you a job, employers have freedom of association, and political beliefs are not a protected class. Anyone who thinks those things are "fascism" either doesn't have the slightest clue what that term means or is gleefully misusing it to troll.

You have no idea what the reason was. That is was all due to a hat is pure speculation. Get on the fake news bus.

Controlling what is said in public is fascism. They do not allow dissenting opinion.

You are free to say pretty much anything you want publicly. No owes you the use of their private property to do so. They don't owe you their microphone, their soapbox, or their website. And they don't have to work with you if they don't like you. This is about victim mentality and a misplaced sense of entitlement, not free speech and certainly not fascism.

According to your logic, it was "fascism" for Clear Channel to stop playing the Dixie Chicks. If you are being consistent, that is.

Ahhh yes the Dixie Chicks. They rubbed their fans the wrong way when they went to Europe and trashed America. Their fans including me stopped listening to their music and if nobody cares to listen to their music radio stations will of course stop playing it. How many FB posts have been banned for post that mock and ridicule Trump and his supporters and how many of them lost their jobs because of that? Can you point some out for me?

Then why are there plenty of conservative opinions on Facebook and why are there still conservative musicians? Because you are talking about feels, not facts. You still have a right to free speech. So does the musician in the OP. Anyone saying otherwise doesn't understand what free speech actually is--they think it means that employers and publishers have no right, when in fact they do. Once again: you can say what you want, you just can't force others to publish it or to associate with you if they strongly disagree. You have a right to your opinion, not a "right" to be popular. But good to see that you made it through an entire post without trying to invent new meanings for the word "fascism."

They should be celebrating his right to vote, his involvement and his excitement at having participated in the wonderful right to choose our representatives. Instead they zeroed in on who he voted for and afflicted him for it.

So it is only "fascism" when moderators enforce rules on a conservative. Got it. Hope that clears up just how nonsensical and irrational the cries of "fascism" are.

When your political opinion gets you punished it's a way to quash dissent. Good luck if you are attemptingng to start a career in Hollywood or in journalisim or as a college professor if you are a conservative. They have become bastions of fascism and your application will end up in the trash.

In his facebook post, he said he knew he was offending people. Turns out, he was right. He offended the wrong people, apparently, and lost his gig. It didn't seem to bother him - offending people - until it affected him. He can't have it both ways - play the big man when he thinks he's offending people, then whining like a little man when that offence bites him in the ass. Grow up!

Being unpopular isn't a "punishment" and it isn't fascism. Playing make-believe that it is isn't a good look.
