Trump scraps WW1 memorial visit in France because of rain

Trump, afraid of having another Bad Hair Day, ducked the ceremony he came for.
Remember after the Philly shootings, he fielded questions under an umbrella at the airport, before boarding to go to a rally in the Midwest, where he was apologizing for his hair, but assuring people it was real because of it.

the point being, nearly every prez has done similar, seemingly disturbing things, yet the lunatic fringe is harping on trump's every breathe, every step... there's a term for it... 'stalking'

Many a President has shown an ability to deal with the rain. They use umbrellas, raincoats and sometimes just accept they are going to get drenched.

Global pre-eminence is surrendered, most conspicuously, in the case of Trump's aligning with Assad's Syria as the only other pariah state in the common existential struggle against anthropogenic climate change, but the abdication of primacy is far more encompassing.

There once was an isolated, tenuous enclave where elite, white males elevated their enlightened, inclusive vision to make America great.

It is now the white/male political party that is renouncing and retreating from their forbears' noble goal, their confidence that welcomed engagement as the path to achievement.

I reject the argument of the Presidential motorcade being too big a deal to drive to the ceremony. These events are planned in the most careful detail. That includes the possibility of having to alter routes, use aircraft or land vehicle. Unless there was a flood blocking all the roads, or some other disaster, the idea that the President of the United States could not make it to an American Cemetery in France because of rain is laughable.

If there is one thing the French love America for, it is our war dead on their soil. They would move heaven and earth to see any honorary event come off successfully. For the 100th Anniversary of World War One, they'd move Hell as well.

Trump is an embarrassment and a walking, talking, gesturing, Twittering insult.

Looked into this for all of ONE minute, that LW didn't do that before spewing TDS and nonsense is typical.

Apparently the cloud ceiling, not the relatively light rain, grounded POTUS' helicopter. Then the logistics of forming a proper motorcade in a foreign country stifled whatever contingency plan the SS had.

Unlike many lesser world leaders, the POTUS cannot just hop into a light escort and drive somewhere, whether it's Trump, Obama, Reagan, Ford or JFK. We have the historical assassinations and attempts compared to other countries to PROVE that. Necessary Context. Of course entirely omitted in TDS narratives.

Trump made an expensive, international trip with the full intention of going to the ceremony. Of course TDS narratives omit this other necessary context totally.

Anyone trying to make this about "a little rain," "Trump's tweeting" or his hair after being informed of the above is a purposeful liar in print for all to see, so please do continue the TDS.

 

That someone who does not know the entire facts and logistical issues involved in the specific contingency plan and this specific motorcade forwards the absurdity above with as presumably straight face is the only thing laughable.

 

And yet 60 other world leaders managed.
