You are correct. They are responsible for the large number of gun deaths in America.

If you take out the hives where people are stacked on top of each other, segregated into poor areas right on top of each other with little job mobility because what unskilled labor there is is often undercut by illegals who work under the table, which conditions cause a truly absurd amount of desperation in the populace to build which leads to the same amount of violent crime usually centered around theft, prostitution, and selling contraband drugs and firearms?
    Yeah no ****.

Its almost like.... its not the guns that are the problem... that they don't magically cause crime or anything like that.... that socioeconomic conditions which are most often present in cities are the actual root cause of crime or something.....

    Not my people.

My people are good, hard-working Americans.

Not some bizarre and uncivilized toxic urban subculture.

    It'
    Strangely, it's more than that.

You will never get a more vehement response from the right than when you attack guns.

Not god or jesus, and certainly not America, not even trump. Guns are holier to the right than literally anything.

I have an hypothesis: Too much time, and concentration of power around intelligence. You generally have to be smart to rich in this country, and that leaves a lot of dumb people emasculated. The only thing the dumb have left to make them feel manly is guns. The reason I think this is because there is a lot of nonesense rhetoric around guns being for protection. But, those who might need protection have no interest, and the fantasies are always about being the hero, not the victim.

Other than that, I have no evidence, but you won't really find a legitimate man who is worried about guns.

Give this man a medal for logic and reason.

It's about time somebody actually explained that to people.

Alaska's gun murder rate is the same as NY and CT....two states with very strict gun laws. So Alaska with lax guns laws has the same gun murder rate as those strict gun law states.....go figure.

OK, well then, if you don't like it you have any other country in the world to choose from, so what's the problem?

Is there something about the U.S. that you would hate to live anywhere else?

Well I mean they do kinda commit over 50% of the homicides in the country while only being 13% of the population....However over 90% of it is black on black crime.

A statistic as drastic as that isn't just something we can ignore because it's uncomfortable to discuss. The question is why and how do we come up with a solution to that. Someone already pretty thoroughly discussed the why, now we need a solution to it.

The claim on the part of yourself is false. Not merely factually incorrect, but outright false. There are no semi-automatic firearms on the private market that can be converted to a fully-automatic firearm through the use of a file. Absolutely none whatsoever, and no claims to the contrary will prove otherwise. Either show precisely which firearms can indeed be modified in such a manner, or recant the statement entirely.

Because of right wing propaganda resulting from NRA lobbying and profit-seeking for themselves and the gun industry. PERIOD!

And then some non-thinking "deplorables" fell for it.

Enough times for it to be legally justified.

If you want to combat gun violence in inner city ghettos then no gun control measures are going to work outside of pure confiscation. These guys aren't buying their guns from the store. And the law against getting caught with an illegal firearm in a place like Chicago is pretty severe. They can charge you for every round in your gun so if you are caught walking around with a pistol with a standard 13 round magazine you are looking at up to 13 Class 4 felonies. You need a license to even own a handgun and you can't even apply for one if you've gotten in to a bar fight in the last 5 years. And it's a Class 3 felony to sell a firearm to somebody who doesn't have a valid firearm license.

I mean I don't even know what else you could do to try to prevent firearms from getting in to the wrong hands in Chicago, but it's obviously not doing very much up there seeing how gangsters are murdering each other with their illegally obtained guns to the tune of literally every single day.

What other regulations do you propose could be done in Illinois to help stop the situation in Chicago to stop the gangsters there from obtaining illegal handguns?

They are far more numerous per capita than in any other country, and any mention of any policy that might produce a modest reduction of mass shootings (background checks?) is immediately condemned like as if Jesus was called a liar and thief.

Then please explain why ownership exploded beginning when Obama was elected, and why sales continue to explode any time any mention is made of background checks or banning of bump stocks, etc. after each mass shooting.

NYC had the worst ghettos in the country. They now have low crime due to gun control

Answer the question I asked. I didn't ask about NYC, I asked about Chicago.

What is your step by step plan to fix Chicago? "Gun control" isn't an answer, that doesn't tell me anything.
