Alaska's gun murder rate is the same as NY and CT....two states with very strict gun laws. So Alaska with lax guns laws has the same gun murder rate as those strict gun law states.....go figure.

Americans hate the idea of restrictions being placed on something they like. How hard is that to understand

What does "federal gun control" mean? What does that entail? What are the specifics? At least A specific?

With only one exception, all mass shooters since the Columbine incident have successfully passed numerous background checks. Thus proposing more background checks is a useless, worthless proposal. A physician may as well be prescribing antibiotics for treating an infection that has already become immune to the treatment.

What relevance does such have to the discussion at hand? If someone chooses to legally own something, that is ultimately their decision to make.

Even if such is the case, it would not change anything. There is no requirement in the united states for constitutional rights to earn their legitimacy for their legal exercising to remain legal. There is no system where their legal use must outweigh the number of times an individual violates the rights of others in order to remain legitimate.

Sure. People freeze to death there in winter because they can’t afford heat.

There is a large nugget of truth here.

Mass shootings only SEEM more frequent. The information age and constant media availability and the need to sensationalize to compete for ratings has made more people aware. That's all.

How is the 2nd Amendment "besides the point?" Aren't guns viewed the way that they are precisely BECAUSE of the 2nd Amendment? If the 2nd Amendment didn't exist, guns wouldn't be "holy objects" would they? Or at least, nowhere AS holy.

What is your point here? Of course armed guards wouldn't have necessarily stopped it, but how is that an argument for not having armed guards?

Why do you mention BB guns?

How much more gun control can happen in California? Isn't it already VERY strict?

Those four guys were police weren't they?

What does this have to do with Christ?

It's hard to understand why a person with enough guns that they are enjoying target shooting would rush out and buy more guns and stock up on ammo. You're willfully ignoring the obvious I think.
