"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fresh off its bungled machine recount, Broward County’s second day of manual recounting temporarily stopped about an hour after it began Saturday when lawyers from both political parties pointed out that volunteers were counting the wrong ballots.

Hundreds of volunteers spent most of Friday sorting through 32,000 overvotes and undervotes in the Senate race between incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson and Republican Gov. Rick Scott. Broward officials announced Friday night they had finished their manual recount.

“It appears there may have been some ballots from yesterday mixed in with the ones for today,” Broward Canvassing Board Judge Deborah Carpenter-Toye told reporters.

Forty-seven manila envelopes from the Senate recount were mixed in with the envelopes distributed for the commissioner race."

WTF, really? Again? You can't make this **** up. Can this county really be this hosed? The never ending recount. Sooner or later someone should just remove this idiot from the equation.

 

Brenda Snipes may be crooked but at least she's not stealing any money.

Update. Now they are missing more than two thousand ballots.

"Larry Davis, a lawyer for Fried’s campaign, asked for an explanation on what happened to the 2,040 votes Broward forgot to tally in the manual recount that was submitted to the state two minutes late. At the time, Broward announced it had also mishandled votes and “co-mingled” ballots."

“If they don’t find these 2,000 ballots there’s going to be 2,000 Broward citizens — that voted for Republicans and Democrats — that aren’t going to have their vote counted. They’re going to be disenfranchised,” Davis said. “We have 24 hours to get this thing straight from now, basically.”

Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes told the board she was still unsure of what happened Thursday afternoon, but she believed early votes may have been left uncounted.

“The ballots are in this building,” she said. “There would be nowhere else for them to be. But they are misfiled in this building.”

She promised to report back soon with the answers, prompting Republican lawyer Joseph Goldstein to caution Snipes not to double count any votes in fixing the errors with the machine recount.

“We certainly want all valid ballots to be counted, but we don’t want valid votes to be counted twice,” he said.

All Florida State Election Commissioners were appointed by Republican Governor, Rick Scott. Take it up with him.

 

List of problems in Broward county:
1. Snipes refused to give ballot numbers and had to be ordered by the court to produce those ballot numbers in accordance with Florida statute.
2. Snipes has lost 2040 ballots. Can't explain where they are. Says they are "misfiled somewhere in the building". This fact wasn't exposed until a Republican lawyer asked where the 2040 votes were. The information should have been noted to the attorneys on both sides by Snipes rather than hoping nobody would notice.
3. Broward missed the recount deadline by 2 minutes losing gains for Scott(R) for 779 votes and more than 700 votes for Caldwell. A lot of money spent so she could just flush the recount results.
4. The Borward recount team mixed ballots that weren't counted already counted with votes that were and counted them again.

A judge rejected Democrats' extension requests. All of this comes on the heels of a shocking story about apparent coordinated voter fraud machinations from Florida Democrats. There must be a full investigation into this:

Jake Sanders, a Democratic consultant in the Treasure Coast who saw the email, told the USA TODAY NETWORK - Florida that he warned party staffers about the legality of using an altered form, but was ignored. "I warned FDP staff members of the questionable legal status of altering a state form and misleading people their vote would be counted before the court case played out," Sanders said. "And coordinated campaign leadership told them to keep pushing it that, 'We are exhausting every possibility.'" ...To Sanders, the party was not being upfront with voters and "undermining making sure every vote counts." "They should have been saying, 'This is unprecedented. We are fighting for your vote to count. Fill this out so we can fight for you.' But self-imposing a fake deadline and deceiving people is counter to that," Sanders said.


In recent days, the national media has scolded Republicans for supposedly fear-mongering about 'fraud' in Florida, even though their suspicions now appear to have been well-founded. They've also attacked the GOP for undermining faith in the electoral process. And yet, prominent Democrats from Cory Booker to Sherrod Brown to Hillary Clinton are openly and baselessly alleging that the Georgia gubernatorial election was somehow stolen or illegitimate -- and the losing candidate (who trails by well over 50,000 votes) is apparently mulling a lawsuit to demand a do-over election. Only people that care about honesty, unlike you who seems to say "who cares" when some Demcorat scheme doesn't work like when you said "who cares" about Kavanaugh. SO I have a question, who cares what you say?

I was born in Miami. Got scuba certified in Lauderdale. And have very fond memories of the Keys, especially Marathon and Big Pine. Haven't been back since forever though.

 

Brilliant observation. I was feeling down today and then I remembered somewhere there is a Mr. Snipes answer suddenly I felt much better.

 

It's changed and they have very untrustworthy elections.

I got certified in the Keys. Had to the HEEDS specialty portion too. We did that in the sub pens. It sucked. The water is black and I can only imagine what's in that water.
