Capitalism is not a matter of published prices and higher copays. Capitalism is a free market where buyers and sellers come together and negotiate a voluntary exchange of goods and services. Getting to free market capitalism through socialist central planning would work about as well as getting to true communism* through socialist central planning. Its never gonna happen. As Thomas Jefferson said "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground". Once a government has a single payer system in place the only way to separate it will likely be to destroy the government and start from scratch.

There is a much better way to get to free market capitalism in healthcare because it already exists. I've posted examples of this several times and provide links in the following text. a good example of a free market clinic is the Atlas MD clinic in Wichita, Kansas. They work on a subscription model and list all the included treatments and their fees on their website. Their fees range from $50.00 per month for young adults to $100.00 per month for the over 65 set. That means your base out of pocket medical costs are $1200.00 dollars per person, per year or less. If you browse their website you'll find their subscription pricing as well as a price sheet for tests, labs and medications. If you're a member of the Atlas MD clinic in Wichita and you do need surgery that isn't included, a place to look for that is The Surgery Center of Oklahoma. They also publish their prices and terms so you know what you're getting before you commit to anything.







*true communism as I understand it, is a society organized with no hierarchy where no person has authority over any other, everyone works to the benefit of everyone else and all tasks and resources are shared equally among the people. My understanding of this is also that true communism can never happen among any group larger than 10 or 12 people because it is counter to human nature.
