There was still over 100,000 troops in Vietnam at the end of 1971 but the drawdown was still on and the US was fast getting the hell out.

There were 94,000 draftees in 1971, below the average level between the Korean War and the Vietnam war.

In 1972 the odds of drawing orders to Vietnam was very slim for draftees and enlistees.

My cousin enlisted when he was 16 and did four tours in Vietnam, but nobody knows to this day how he talked himself in. He had all the skills of a soldier and a swamp man by age 12. He was gung ho and loved every minute of it, much of it in North Vietnam. I wouldn't be surprised if he killed 1000 or more. He saw most of it and hated that it was finally over, and had difficulty as a civilian.

 

Give me a FRIGGEN break, I'm a White Man and there are neighborhoods populated by mostly by Black people that I can't walk in without fear of being murdered, simply because I'm White, but reverse that where a Black man is murdered in a White neighborhood and it's immediately called a hate crime. Black people are mostly responsible for the majority of Black murders in this country, but if a Black murderous thug that has a criminal record as long as his leg pulls a gun he has illegally on a White Cop and gets shot and killed for it, the outrage in Black Community goes through the roof, but if the White Cop was the one killed that same community will not make mention of it.
