What investments are tax-deductible? I think you mean "tax-free investments". The rich cannot write off an investment in anything other than money spent on their own businesses and costs of running them.

Well, Kode, I told you that Venezuelan Presidente Maduro is a socialist... his political party is socialist... and the policies that have ruined Venezuela for years (and continue to do so to this day) are also socialist. Now, if you want to go on quibbling about what the word, "is" means, you are welcome to pursue your quest, and 'tilt at that windmill'.

What is it about the Liberal mind? You may remember that even a reasonably intelligent man like Bill Clinton labored so hard trying to parse the word, "is", also.... ... but, Monica knew.... :roflol:

You obviously don't know the answer to the question I asked or you would have offered a few examples. Name one or two "investments" that are "tax-deductible".

You're moving the goalposts AND deflecting. In post 429, where all this started, you said "Thus, currently, Venezuela is a socialist country."

I challenged that and you have been squirming ever since. I think a mature adult would have the courage and strength to admit his error and then try to learn something about it.

You baffle me, Kode. I've given you numerous facts and references that state, unequivocally, that Venezuela is a country that has become socialist, is ruled by socialists, has a socialist presidente, and exhibits so signs of being anything other than socialist. There are different kinds of therapy for people who have obsession-compulsion disorders....

Suggestion: if you feel so strongly about whatever distinction it is that you're trying to make, why don't you fly down to Venezuela, spend about six months living under Maduro and his ruling Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela, and then write us all some posts telling us what you believe the political and economic realities actually are down there. If nothing else, it might give you something to do, and it may make for fascinating reading, too. Now, have a nice whatever-it-is that people like yourself have on any given day....

Oh! Mygosh, I almost forgot! PLEEZE take Ocasio-Cortez WITH you when you go! She could issue campaign-tweets from Caracas, and regale us all with tales about how WONDERFUL it is down there!

So you make statements with no intention of backing them up when they are questioned. That can only mean that you really don't know what you're talking about. . . . -as expected. Good job.

I know you have no interest in anything I have to say about Venezuela and Socialism, and that's your prerogative, even though I've wasted so much time and 'bandwidth' trying to get through to you.

Suggestion: why don't YOU contact the Presidente of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, and ask HIM, as head of the Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela whether he considers himself, his party, and his government to be socialist. Would you take his word for it...? :confuse:

I know Venezuela is in deep trouble. I know a few other things about it too, including that it has no bearing on the US or the socialist movement here. But I also know that you have great difficulty getting anywhere near and thought that you may have made an error and that you could learn something about it to correct it. That is caused by fear of the truth.

    Ostrich time!

Yes, "Ostrich time"... try not to hurt your poor head. Some soils can be quite hard and, uh, abrasive....

I feel badly for Venezuela. It has enormous oil reserves, and it should (SHOULD) be one of the richer nations in the entire world. Maybe if they can ever free themselves from ruinous creeps like Chavez, and now, Maduro, the Venezuelans can resume their progress toward national wealth and success. Regardless of the fact that you and I can't see eye-to-eye on anything, I do wish the people of Venezuela well.

Calm down! We're on the same page...you just gave a good detail as to why the right wing noise machine is playing to the willfully ignorant regarding AOC on this issue.

Try READING CAREFULLY AND COMPREHENSIVELY the information contained in the links....that is, unless you don't have the intellectual courage to deal with FACTS that don't jibe with your opinions, supposition and conjecture. After the read, then you have the tools to explain to the reading audience how you are right and my source material is wrong

I know it seems like I'm "all over the place" on tax breaks for the wealthy -- but actually I'm totally against them! Everybody should have to pay exactly the same varieties of taxes, and it should be no mystery to figure out what those are. I will concede that different 'brackets' are appropriate, but there should be NO more tax shelters, tax loopholes, exemptions, exclusions, deductions, "carried interest", on and on and on.

Frequently the wealthy simply employ platoons of tax lawyers and tax accountants -- and pay little or NOTHING. That, surely is absolutely wrong!

Post from you link what you think refutes what I have posted, I don't go chasing rabbits down hole. Highlight it, right click, select copy, then come back and place your cursor and right click and select paste. THEN we can discuss in in PUBLIC on the forum.

It's the left wing out at the Sundance film festival that just select the documentary about her as the People's Choice award. That's a LOT Of noise. There's a LOT of noise on my Yahoo and Google pages from the leftwing media.

Translation: Bluesguy doesn't have the intellectual courage to read ALL information comprehensively, as he fears it will logically and factually debunk his mantras and talking points. Instead he wastes time trying to discuss excerpts in the hopes that no one will notice how he misses (or ignores) the comprehensive take on the subject at hand.

In short, I don't do homework for the willfully ignorant....if a mouse click and less than five minute read is too much for Bluesguy, then there's little point in trying to have an adult discussion with him.
