    Our Founding Father's would have hung most of the left wing Democrat lawmakers from a Yard Arm by now. Our Founding Fathers fled the type of rule the left wants. By today's standards, the left would call George Washington a far right wing nut. How dare he build the United States into a great country.

    I am so tired of the statue of liberty being used as a symbol that "we're all immigrants" (surely after six generations I no longer have to consider myself an immigrant), that sometimes I wish we actually could just give it back.

    "In 1886, the French government gave the United States the Statue of Liberty as a present to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence. However, the gift served another purpose. During the 1880s, the French Third Republic was experiencing political difficulties, with many citizens wishing to return to a more authoritarian form of government. The gift of the statue was meant to highlight the virtues of republicanism and be a symbol for the French Republic’s ideals."

    The gift of the Statue of Liberty by France had nothing to do with immigration, its proximity to, New York harbor, Ellis island started that as at one point it could be seen above the horizon as ships approached New York harbor.
