If he sincerely repented yes. Let's say some people were praying for Corleone, and God in His Mercy enlightened him and opened his heart to God's Grace.

When someone suffers, the Catholics say that God is giving them Graces so as to perfect their soul. Well Corleone's first Grace was the death of his daughter - and she was his life. Through the suffering of her death, Michael became aware of the pain he had caused others. I think people suffer after death, until they become aware and repent for every sin they have committed, no matter how small - but this is just my opinion. (I have immense guilt feelings about everything).

Once someone asked the Catholic Saint Don Bosco who founded the Salesian Mission why young people die. He said it's because God takes them when they have pure hearts so they could go to heaven, because they are living among sinners.

The Life Review of a near death experience can be rough........ really, really rough........
it is like we do a Vulcan Mind Meld with everybody who we harmed in small or in big ways.

The story of the transformation in the life of Mr. John Ramirez implies to me that there would be hope for Josef Stalin's soul if he would truly repent once would find out that Atheism is just not very accurate. ......

    Yes!
Even Michael Corleone might obtain forgiveness.

    Excellent!

Yes...... those who are forgiven much can become people who love much.

    Luke 7:47
47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Why should anyone take anything the Catholics say, or indeed anything any denomination of Christian says, seriously? There is no truth in any of it. It is all devoid of factual truth, all a matter of emotional satisfaction and not dealing with the real world. That is all any religion has to offer - a bunch of lies based on earlier lies, in turn based on even earlier lies, and heaps of myth and legend.

No matter what Catholics say about God or life after death, neither demonstrably exists and neither even makes sense based on what is known about life and the cosmos.

Thats my plan too. I'm going to live in absolute hedonism and sinfulness during my life. But when I'm on my deathbed I'll accept Jesus. I'll have a last laugh for those Christians didn't get all the drinking, partying, and sex I did, and those non-Christians who were amazing people but now are roasting in a lake of fire for all eternity.

What if you suddenly die an unexpected death?

The repentance has to be genuine. How are you going to accomplish that in so short a time?
It's not easy to suddenly turn things around when you've lived a certain way all your life.

Under Catholic Dogma it's even easier. One just has to confess. During the Cruisades, the church literally handed out special documents signed by the Pope forgiving any and all sins committed by Cruisading knights. They used this as a way to draw the worst types of people....rapists, theifs, murderers, etc....to join the Cruisade.

All it takes under Catholic law is a preist to say someone's sins are forgiven and they are.

But..... once we go into the Life Review those special documents have essentially no value whatsoever.........

A Life Review can be something that we get stuck in for years, decades or even centuries.....

Here is an example of a seven minute Life Review by somebody born Jewish who went into extreme skepticism......

Thank G-d he was allowed to come back and warn us about it:

Actually the Roman Catholic idea of Purgatory is based on ideas on the afterlife from Judaism.

If I die a sudden death, then I am screwed along with Gandhi, Buddha, Einstein, and the vast majority of humanity. I'll start when I'm getting sick in old age and try to get a real conversion and start going to church and stuff. That should give me a few years to get a real conversion. But the gamble doesn't end if I actually convert to Christianity. What if it turns out Allah is the one true God or it turns out the Vikings had it right and we aren't getting into Valhalla because we didn't die in battle? What if its a God we haven't even heard about and he cares about faith, or following a model or life code we haven't heard about.

Its a gamble I'm willing to take. From what I hear about heaven we are just some sexless angels who just float around the clouds doing church all the time and singing song to God all the time. I doubt there are parties, threesomes, porn, alcohol, video games, the internet or Game of Thrones in heaven. So might as well have some real fun now and engage in some decadent hedonism while I am young and still have the chance. But look, I am wasting it here.

In other words if something cannot be comprehended by you then it can't possibly exist. Lot of arrogance there. Imagine if a child was to go to school with the same negative attitude, how stupid they would grow up to be. Oh well!

Hey Greeks, you forgot about the god of science.

There is no god of science because science is the enemy of all gods, and that is because gods are a product of superstition.

I comprehend gods and religion just fine. That's one reason I reject their veracity. They have no factual basis. It's pure human thought and imagination at play.

People do die suddenly, but I believe that God tries to take them when they are in a state of Grace. I know that some individuals who I won't name, died after they confessed their sins and received Holy Communion - almost as if God knew they would fall back into their sinful state considering the life style they led.

But look, this is my interpretation as a devout Christian. I'm sure others won't see it the same way - and that's their choice.

Durandal, what about other dimensions? Do you think that something exists only when it's tangible?

And herein we see the reality of religions...EVERTHING including whatever God is 100% subjective and entirely created n the mind of the individual. Though people may begin with one book or another, they then imagine what it means and who it is about while claiming there is only the One God. And you wonder why people do not believe in it.

There's no judgment on the spirit side, even if he didn't repent. And since hell doesn't exist, there's no place else to go.
    I'm not a Christian either.

I think there is no claiming something exists with no basis for supporting its existence.

I also think that other dimensions is a vague, modern idea that allows a theist to remain a theist in spite of modern cosmology.
